Every draft since 2012 (with the exception of the 2019 draft) has produced at least 2 All-Stars, including 2014 and 2017 where people were fairly underwhelmed with those prospects at the time. The draft is always a crapshoot but you have a better chance of getting an All-Star--hopefully a franchise player--with the 1st pick if you don't screw it up.

Kat ran Butler out of town. Butler is in the NBA Finals, whereas the wolves couldn't crack the bubble. A KAT-lead team this year is 19W and 45L team (29.7% win). It's not like Rockets would be rebuilding around a cheap rookie/sophmore. He's on a 158 mil contract.

    His years in the NBA
    2015-16
    2016-17
2017-18 * only playoff appearance. Eliminated by Harden's Rockets in a gentleman's sweep. Butler was there that year.
    2018-19
    2019-20

I guess one can say they're good at tanking?

KAT is not a franchise player. Health issues, maturity issues, soft defender. This would be a "retool" but the idea of getting Paul back for WB without recouping some of the picks we lost in that trade is a tough pill to swallow.

I mean the trades do seem like a possibility. All three teams I think want to shake things up. All three teams aren’t really contenders as current constructed.

I don’t think the Rockets are a small tweak from being a contender. I don’t think Morey or Tilman are afraid to make the big move.

It all adds up to something that I could possibly happen.

He’s got potential but he’s got a broke jumper worse than Lonzo

There is a lot of risk in screwing up in this draft, specially when giving up a top 3 player in the league.

No one is denying there's a risk in going from a perennial playoff team to a full rebuild by trading away your best player. But with the constraints that this team has right now, do we want to see what more Harden can do that he hasn't already done by the end his contract ends or do we want to reset and try something else? Do we think that this team has a higher ceiling than what we saw in the playoffs or do we think we've already seen the peak of the Harden era?

I mean, if we’re going full rebuild there needs to be a lot more picks involved.
I think this team as constructed is flawed but I don’t think Harden has reached his max if he has the right players around him.

KAT is a loser...equivalent to AD in New Orleans

#1 pick in a weak draft?

a trade like this would be better if we actually had any real control over own picks and could tank hard, but that’s not the case

if OKC actually wanted Russ back so badly, then go ahead and give us back some of our picks for CP3...

But he can score and finish with crafty moves. Plus he's a great passer with great handles. Clutch also

I guess, I don’t see it at all. I think best case scenario is Ben Simmons and worst case is total bust.

Just comes down to being young with questionable shot selection. Very unselfish but is not afraid to take shots

It's rather unfortunate that our dumbass owner forced Morey's hand into trading for Westbrook. I'm not one to believe that CP3 would have had the season he had in OKC if he were to have stayed but at least we know Houston would have played smart basketball.

Difference is Ben won't shoot..but Ball will shoot with confidence. Will make shots under pressure. Plus he's a gym rat with great work ethic. He will improve
