How does the 24.99 per month for the S and 34.99 per month for the X work?

You’ll receive a monthly billing statement from Citizens One for your Xbox All Access purchase. Citizens One is a brand name of Citizens Bank, N.A.

So basically you pay installments to that bank.

 

I don't own a gaming console and don't have XBox all access either and don't have a 4K TV.

Is it worth it to get the 24.99 per month option for the XBox Series S?

Any help would be fine and would I get any next gen games like NBA2K20, Madden and Halo on there?

 

You'd be able to play Halo when it releases, but sports games like 2k and Madden likely half a year after release only.

If the additional 10$/month aren't an issue, I'd get the Series X instead (likely better frame rates and graphics, plus the Series S ram is worse, so some games will likely be downgraded), but it's your budget so only do what you're comfortable with.

 

In your case, I would recommend the Series S. You don't need the 4K without the 4K TV an d the All Access (payment plan) includes the Game Pass Ultimate which gives you online plus Game Pass that includes a ton of games and will be adding all first-party games day in date in the future. Check out the games available for Game Pass. It really is a hell of a deal and keeps getting better with the addition of EA Play coming soon and, as stated previously in this thread, Bethesda being added to Microsoft. And again, it's all included in that monthly payment to pay off the console. Yea, you could go with the $10 more a month and get the beefier system with the drive, but the Series S is built exactly for someone like you.

I guess they could release on multiple platforms, but then I'd be curious why they wouldn't release other Xbox Studios Games on multiple platforms (Gears, Halo, Forza, etc.). Maybe it could be a scenario where TES/Fallout release on other platforms (maybe not at launch though?), but most of the other games stay exclusive to PC/Xbox. I think with All Access and xCloud, they might be thinking that fans of these games can easily "jump in" even if they do keep them to PC/Xbox.

If they do keep things exclusive, they might be able to use that as a bargaining chip for getting Game Pass on other platforms. If Sony ends up allowing it, maybe that means PS5 can get these games at or near launch.

Ultimately just depends on exactly how Xbox wants to prioritize certain things.

 

I preordered the series x through target. It took refreshing the target app for about 15 minutes. Have no idea if I even want it. I still have red dead redemption 2 sitting there in shrink wrap. How long before Halo comes out and what else can I play.

 

@RC Cola do you have any info/insight on PS5 production problems? Been a few reports (and denials by Sony) on production issues with the SOC. Was going to dismiss it at first, but then lack of units at pre-order has me thinking there may be a real fire.

Asking from the perspective of someone holding AMD calls... last thing I want is poor yields eating up wafer supply for AMD's other higher margin products.

 

Not til next year. I think thats why theyre rolling out this game pass ultimate(somewhat), to bide the time for all the major games roll out next year.
