NBA needs to overhaul their voting. I don't know the right or correct answer but maybe something similar to all-star voting? Eliminate more than half of these media clowns, make their vote count for less and include players/coach's votes.

Just because you host "The Jump" or "NBA Countdown" or "First Take" doesn't mean you should get a vote. Sorry (not sorry) Rachel Nichols.

    Media 10%
    Fans 15%
    Players 50%
    Coaches 25%

I don't know but the crooked media being the sole voters, nope.

She knows as much about basketball as the majority of assholes in the NBA that vote for awards. Windhorst gives his vote to whoever gives him the most gift cards to Outback Steak House... Shams literally doesn’t know basketball and Bill Simmons is a punk.

leaving AD off all 3 All-NBA teams makes zero sense. I’d love to hear the reasoning behind that. Did she just forget about him?

she’s far from the only one who casts suspect/nonsensical ballots...a lot of these media people have no business voting for things like MVP or All-NBA

Why does Chris Broussard have a vote? Doug Gottlieb should be the last one trying to come for somebody. He’s a nobody who needs to stay in his place.

most of these clowns watch the Lakers and then whatever games are on national TV if they have the time, but want to front like they’re experts...

Yeah she stated she just forgot about him.

All NBA voting system isn't broken - it's fine and keep it as the way it is now. Players getting voted in the all-NBA teams seem to be mostly right and nothing alarming pops out. Raising a fuss over nothing really

I've never understood why the players don't have any say. Honestly, their votes should be the ones that count the most. And I don't mean 50% like what J.R. said. It should be like 80-90% players, 10-20% other sources.

Unfortunately, lot of fans can't disagree without resorting to misogynist comments.

Reporters live and breath Twitter, but they forget that Twitter is a cesspool of a place.

Durvasa made a point in a GARM thread that individual votes are not significant enough to impact results. True that.

Strange that she would say she forgot about Davis. Rookie move, maybe, but I doubt it.

Maybe Gottlieb is a little jealous. He's had radio host gig for years but no vote. Compared to her as 1st year host getting 1. (Her "I PLAYED ball" doesnt matter, because Gottlieb played college ball too)

Still, I dont see his comment as sexist & misogynist either. This is Twitterverse being overly righteous. That all said, all things media, I dont get why an NBA show host couldnt have a vote. How do we "really" know who's doing their homework and who isnt?

Any fan has as much basketball perspective as any of the idiots on tv. Maria Taylor isn't any less qualified than the other schmucks.

Remove the media from the vote entirely. Players and coaches only

Players already have their own MVP designation.

Casual fans only care what the league and media tells them to care.
