Morey could learn a thing or two on how you rebuild a team in a short amount of time. Much respect to that organization.

Hey look. I was right. I had no idea Russ was that move. Morey was caught off guard by Jimmy and it embarrassed Tilman. I forgot all about this.

the clowning and accusing guys of not wanting to win when they choose not to come here is gonna have to stop from here on out

looks like Bron and Jimmy Butler made excellent decisions

Bron got trashed for no longer caring about championships and just wanting the LA lifestyle and being in movies, but here he is destroying us in the 2nd round and being the favorite to win the title after just 1 year in LA

looks like Jimmy Butler had more on his mind than just being the man and living in Miami...he is just 2 wins away from the finals

he is the best player there, but it’s a total team effort down there in Miami...they have an excellent culture, coach, and know what they’re doing...no gimmicks or extremes that end up being huge fails

Riley has the clout and respect that Morey simply does not have...most players don’t care about analytics and all that nerd talk from Morey

he didn’t want Houston. Nothing to do with the team or organization. Everything to do with his family. Butler thinks he’s the best player in the world and can win anywhere. I’m surprised how good Miami is already but they have their second star in Bam and the best supporting cast in the NBA. Riley is the GOAT.

Miami wanted Russ. We got him. Sometimes the process is forgotten due to results.

we got him because of his relationship with Harden and giving up a combo of 4 protected picks and pick swaps

my main point was that we need to stop acting like guys don’t care about winning or titles because they don’t come here as if Houston is the only logical choice if u want to win a championship

We got him because he wanted to come here and Tilman was willing to give up whatever to get him. Miami wanted him but he wanted Houston. Maybe things would be different if he went there and we’d be the ones saying how Butler chose wrong. Maybe Russ would have been great and we would be mad we didn’t trade for him.

Of course Houston isn’t the only team that can win. Half the league has been to the conference finals since Harden Came here. We aren’t unique except we tried during GSW and the rest of the West didn’t.

he wanted to come here because of his relationship with Harden like I said...there was no other reason

so we need to stop calling these guys losers who don’t care about titles when they choose not to come here...both Bron and Butler looking real good right now

Bron missed the playoffs his first year in LA, it was right to criticize that move at first. Of course people didn't know he would tamper AD out of New Orleans at the time which changed his situation in LA.

Butler going to Miami was about him being the #1 guy and the Heat culture down there, but I didn't think they'd be able to win a championship, and it sure didn't look like it during the season. But in the bubble they just look different, peaking at the right time. Wonder if they'll be able to beat the West team.

Should be no blame or regret on Houston fan base. We wanted him but he didn't choose us.

If nuggets can't beat lakers and miami makes past boston, he's our last line of defense against Lakers.

he missed it due to injury, then the team just imploded because the young guys couldn’t handle the trade talks

that 1st year was always viewed as just a transition year...they had the assets and even cap space if they needed to go that route required to get a star, and they got one...surely people didn’t think another star wouldn’t go there to join him

now Bron is likely winning a title after slapping us around in the semifinals

You still don't get it? Rockets were shot down like an old dog. Horrible officiating and removing House JR from the line up for bogus reasons. The team also lost faith because they knew what was up?

Just want to highlight this part because I always think we go too far with it. It's fine using it, every franchise does, but we go way too far with this stuff.

Riley looks like Pacino, you would actually have a legend who won and looks the part.

    Agreed.

That play where rivers caught the ball after harden is trapped comes to mind. Dude was dribbling wide open at the elbow, below the free throw line. Didn't even look at the basket since it was the "midrange". Never seen that from an nba guard before.

    Play results in a turnover.

Analytics and shot chart and efficiency is all great, but treating the data as dogma or something which requires strict adherence to is silly... Especially when nba data is extremely subjective and incomplete.

However, let's not overlook that they're playing their own brand of small ball over there. Their tallest starter is 6'9' and of the 11 guys who got the most mpg for for them this year, only Meyers Leonard (20 mpg) is taller than that. In this year's playoffs, Olynik is averaging 13 mpg and Leonard 9. That's about as small ball as anyone except us, though they don't have our fascination with the 3, obviously.

I like to call what they’re doing over there skill ball or versatile ball...they’ve got a lot of guys that can do multiple things, and they don’t rely on 1 guy to create everything

aside from pulling off a miracle and getting a big like Christian Wood or Ibaka, I hope we bring in more Jeff Green types that are multi-skilled and can do a little bit of everything as opposed to all these specialists we keep bringing in year after year

I have maintained this here on the forums and on my twitter. *SmallBall* is really *SKILLBALL*. Boston plays it. Miami plays it. Toronto plays it. Warriors play it. Clippers play it. Some teams have a guy an inch or too taller. But they play SKILLBALL.

This is what the Rockets want to do. Problem is they don't have enough TALL SKILL guys.

it is a roster and coaching issue as well.
