James Harden didn't want Chris Paul here either.

Hmm. There could potentially be some massive changes to the Rockets org this offseason.

I think all things are on the table including going full rebuild.

Not that I necessarily believe this story. Things just seem so damn out of whack in general.

I thought it was Harden who initially pushed to get CP3 here - weren't they practicing together and talking about how if they played together they would be unstoppable?

Yes. Initially that's true but if James Harden wanted Chris Paul here this season, he'd still be here.

"It's a player's league ... [Van Gundy] is going to want to practice every day."

Pops wants to practice everyday, too, and look where that got Toronto.

His scoring average would fall drastically under JVG. No way he’s going to go for that...

that is clearly just the OPINION of a former WC executive (probably a Mavs former executive)

OP made the thread title like it’s a fact or something coming from a great source...

    stop the clickbait...

change this thread title before we have people who don’t read what is posted disrespecting Harden based off some dude’s opinion...

Accurate title: "Former executive speculates that James Harden would not hypothetically like playing for JVG"

Yeah, this thread feels misleading. That quote reads like one random former exec throwing out broad guesses based on his own perception of Harden. And since when doesn't Harden want to put in the work? I'll buy this when we actually hear someone in the know or a legitimate source claim Harden may not want the man here. Until then, I'm going to assume we have no clue who Harden wants as coach.

No idea if James Harden has an opinion on JVG as the coach, but I do know that an attributed quote by a former executive that stars don’t practice doesn’t sway me.

I am sure Harden has preferences and that should be considered, but no single player needs to be picking the next coach.
