After the Clippers failure of a season, I don't want Ty Lue or Sam Cassell coaching

Must have been a Rasmussen poll?

Lue was actually coaching in games recently, 3 of them in fact, all losses while his team was the favorite.

Yes I don’t know how the assistant coaches caused Playoff Paul to throw up bricks every game

A team with Harden and Westbrook on it can NOT have a "players coach" leading them. We need a strong and intellectual leader - and probably someone with a strength in managing defensive strategy. Is there an up-and-coming Brad Stevens out there?

Oh, joy! Didn't really care who win, but knowing SAS wanted the Clippers brings me joy!

More like Draymond Green got suspended when it was about to be 4-1.

The ONLY former #10 Rockets point guard that should be considered for the coaching job is Cassell and not this guy:

I have ZERO faith in anyone that has "coached" a LeBron team with the huge exception of Spoelstra. With Cassell, at least he's an unknown commodity in terms of coaching style and I'd rather roll the dice on unknown than known mediocrity.

Its going to take a least a year for that stink to go away. I would pass on the Rivers coaching tree for now.

    This is more on Doc:
    (Via the Ringer)
But now Rivers has been the head coach of three teams that have blown a 3-1 lead. Yes, you read that right: three blown 3-1 leads. There have been only 13 of those in NBA history. He’s also coached three teams that have blown 3-2 leads. The losses are as follows:

    • 2003 Round 1, Magic blow a 3-1 lead to Pistons
    • 2009 Round 2, Celtics blow a 3-2 lead to Magic
    • 2010 NBA Finals, Celtics blow a 3-2 lead to Lakers
    • 2012 East finals, Celtics blow a 3-2 lead to Heat
    • 2015 Round 2, Clippers blow a 3-1 lead to Rockets
    • 2020 Round 2, Clippers blow a 3-1 lead to Nuggets
Blowing leads is a trend for Rivers, and that’s often due to a lack of adjustments.

If we complained about MDA not making adjustments in the playoffs we would gouge out our eyes if Rivers was the coach. His insistence on starting/playing Zubac out there when his team is 10 deep is ridiculous. He should have adjusted after Game 4 or 5 to remove Zubac as fast as possible and play Green at the 5 with Leonard guarding Jokic. Rivers is a good motivator and rah rah guy but a strategist he is not.

Doc always blows playoff series leads. his 1 championship came off of thibs defense and having 4 HoFers on the team. that doesn't make Lue, cassell, or kalamian any worse as coaches.

now I don't want cassell as our HC for other reasons. aside from nostalgia he's best at player development. brought Shai along quickly. we don't need that (same with Atkinson who is another player development coach). we need game management and superstar management.

coaches poll said Lue was among the best at in game adjustments. he has the experience of winning a finals as a coach, and he managed lebron and Kyrie on the way there. no easy task to manage kyrie, just ask Stevens and Atkinson.

So the owner of the Clippers is associated with the team.
I'm sure most non stupid Rockets would want Steve Balmer who has 20x more money than Tilman.

It's Bust then. Pop's too old for the grind and Phil showed that he's checked out with that debacle he created in NY.

You can't discredit Doc for winning a ring while riding the coattails of his HOFers but give credit to Lue for winning his ring by way of a similar process.

I always find it odd that players that become coaches like Doc, who was known as a high IQ player that could lock down as a defender but as a coach can't figure it out from outside the lines.

Lebron is not the coach. Lue out coached Kerr and Stevens, you gotta give him credit when credit is due.
