I think Harden will demand a trade if he doesn't get a 3rd star to pair up with him and Russ. If Harden leaves without a very big return, Morey will be out.

Sprewell was the hero of that team, followed by Camby at his peak. LJ was solid too.

For selfish reasons, I rather have JVG be a broadcaster.

Love JVG and would not be disappointed to see him return along with Chris Finch to run the offense.

If Harden leaves, the return would be monstrous.

I always felt like JVG got the most out of his Rockets teams. But that was a long ass time ago so I don't know what to expect out of him now.

Cassell has a lot of experience on the bench as a coach and seems like a smart guy. But maybe he has been an assistant so long for a reason - maybe he isn't cut out to be a head coach.

So I like those 2 names but I don't know how it would play out. I don't have a leading candidate.

Yeah I have spent a while on the old trade machine. Every possible return package for him is pathetic.

In the Lakers series it was actuslly our offense that got absolutely clamped down. Not sure JVG can fix that. And anyway, any new coach is gonna have to deal with a super flawed roster. I have a feeling the Westbrook trade drove Dantoni out. JVG was vocal during game 4 that the Rockets were worse whenever Westbrook was on the floor.

He actually coached the US Men’s team recently.

JVG is a huge gamble. It's been 13 years since he last coached an NBA team. How many coaches have left that long and come back to be successful? I'm not saying it's not possible, just not the normal arc of a head coach. Also, how has been using that time? If he's been announcing, living a generally slower life, coaching USA basketball every once in a while and now how has an itch to get back into the grind and is about to bring back old school JVG basketball, it'll be a disaster. On the other hand, if he's doing with Steve Kerr did, using his time away to study from afar, amass a new playbook and perfect his new philosophy that he's been working on the whole time because he always knew he'd be a coach again, it could be a great hire.

You'd consider Pop? I mean that would have to take a lot of consideration though, right? You can't just jump right on board with the greatest coach in the history of basketball.

So you're suggesting they interview potential candidates and then hire the best possible option? Bold stance.

I love JVG. I’m worried for his health though. Westbrook may give him some John Starks 0-fer Rockets finals flashbacks.

Sooooo does that mean he's gonna have Mark Jackson suit up, maybe call Marcus Camby and Weatherspoon?

I’m in the same boat. Would I hate this hire? No. I love JVG. I’m just leaning towards a fresh perspective.

I’m down with bringing Sam in at this point.
