What about a team like hornets who desperately need a big name to attract fans? Russ is with MJ’s brand. idk what they have rockets could use (if anything), maybe a 3 team trade? hornets get Russ, 3rd team gets hornets assets and we get 3rd team’s player(s). I’m thinking Beal, ingram, markanien, Al hrford, that type of player
Haven’t even looked at cap figures, but here’s a spitball idea. It’s based off the premise of a small market eastern team seeking a big name. HOU sends: Westbrook HOU receives: Hield, Vucevic SAC sends: Hield SAC receives: Aaron Gordon ORL sends: Aaron Gordon, Vucevic ORL receives: Westbrook We get 2 shooters, one of them being tall lol. A Capela-type rim runner might be more ideal with Westbrook gone, defense being the main concern.
Brogdam and MT would be great. I think there may be other teams willing to roll the dice for a guy that could bring some excitement to the team. Maybe not, but you never know. Most likely a trade would come from a team that has a player with an expiring contract. If Harden demands a trade then I’m sure there would be plenty of teams lining up with good trade offers.
He couldn’t go to his right at all. Or his left really. he also shot 53% from the free throw line in the playoffs. Entire skills just go away with him randomly. it’s like if Shaq couldn’t dunk for a month.
People really confident Westbook is untradeable? That's what we all thought about CP3's contract, but there will be certainly interest for him this off-season (though we obviously sold low on him). He certainly didn't have 0 value 12 months ago, and that January-bubble stretch was probably the best of his career. Some of these miserable franchises have to be desperate for a 'superstar', no matter how flawed he is.
Westbrook & FRP (38.5) For Gordon, Ross, Bamba (38.06) ...The cap matches... Magic get a super star and a good leader. In the East Westbrook would feast. We get playable players that can shoot a little while spreading the cap out to more than just 2 players. Our new coach NEEDS OPPORTUNITIES to coach. Rounding out the roster will help. This move also make Eric Gordon’s value to our team increase. it’s a win for both teams
You aren't going to be able to move Russ unless you take some bad contracts back in return and I would think if he is traded then Harden will ask out too. I think it might be time to blow it up and rebuild or acquire a different all star and start over.
Send Westbrook to the Bulls for OPJ and a pick or 2? I dunno. Hard to see how to realistically improve the team we have without any viable assets. Probably should "tank" 1 season (ie, shoot for 4th/5th seed - which is our ceiling with the current lineup anyway) by sending out some vets (read Tucker and Gordon) to bring back youth, length and athleticism (and picks!). Harden can make anyone look good, trade up to make a run.
