I want an analytically savvy guy with Xs and Os knowledge and is willing to play young players in the regular season to see if they can help the team. Also a coach who doesn't wear out their starters especially in back to back situations. I don't care if it's a complete no-namer. The coach needs to be on the same page as Morey. Sick of us trading guys like Canaan and Daniels that could've helped us in the long term because the coach stubbornly refused to play them.
i think mchale does just fine developing young players, the ones worth developing. chandler parsons, dmo, jones. capela is coming on nicely for a guy the rockets were hoping would stay in europe because he was so not ready for the nba. now he's out there holding his own in the playoffs against solid frontlines. that's player development. canaan and daniels just weren't as good as you all thought is all.
sam. or mario. even just for the sake of excitement. this team right now is too "cool", there's no life.
I would take Steve Francis as an interim coach if it injects some sort of emotion into the team's play.
Sam Cassell with Mario Elie, Robert Horry and Vernon Maxwell as assistant coaches. Show them how it's done. Also, let's shake this roster up. Everyone but Harden should be on the table.
I like Sam and I'd be happy with him as coach. I'd also be pretty delighted to have the first female head coach in the NBA in Becky Hammon. I have zero knowledge of how good she'd be or how she'd approach head coaching--Morey would know that or figure it out through interviews. If she fits the bill though, I'll be happy for our team to break this barrier. Assisting Popovich is a pretty encouraging thing too.
This is a pretty compelling read. https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/the-affirmative-case-for-becky-hammon/
One last one, in which Pau Gasol knocks down every argument against Becky Hammon: https://sports.yahoo.com/pau-gasol-...hinks-becky-hammon-unqualified-172649550.html
