I think it's fair to assume that if say, Javale McGee or Rondo were caught in a similar situation, the league would not treat them as guilty until proven innocent.

Lakers looking like they can be defeated? JK, House gets kicked out of the bubble for banging a hooker. Astros finally won a World Series? JK, they cheated! The Chip is tainted. Texans finally on the way up? JK, BOB trades Hopkins for a bag of chips, throws in a pick too.
Doesn’t make financial sense to raise a fuss. Better to cut losses minimize damage and pr and move on.
