Hector Rondon strikes out the side for Arizona against the Dodgers. Betts, Seager, Pollock. Impressive.

Why did we let that dude walk again? Our bullpen is bearish.

He's meh and costs a ton more than the rookie meh guys we have.

All things being equal he'd be a good end of the pen (other end than back end) guy to have around.

He was great his 1st year with the Stros though.

Uhh... Rondon has not been good this year. His numbers are trash. One lucky inning doesn't change the suck factor.

8.36 ERA, 1.93 WHIP, and his opponent OPS is 1.083

Thanks; I obviously hadn't been following. Just been such a lousy "season". Waiting for the "photoshop the pain" thread to appear.

So you are saying ... there is a chance ... that Rondon would make our bullpen better?

Washington Nationals: Way to early prediction on Will Harris
    4.38 era - 2.11 Whip

Thus far, 2020 has not gone as planned for Harris. He has given up runs in exactly half of the games he has pitched in. He has allowed baserunners in all but two of the games he has pitched in. He has spent time on the injured list and has proven to be ineffective as the eighth inning man out of the bullpen.

I guess keeping him wouldn't have helped. 2.11 Whip? Geez.

Mike Ratface won his game vs the Rangers yesterday. :(
On the bright side, 4 ER in 6 IP put his ERA back above 5.00 :)
Hope it goes up even more

Derek Fisher with a fielding error, and another missed catch (not an error) in the bottom of the 2nd vs NYY. Yankees score seven runs, 7-1 NYY. Fisher's error would have been the second out (up 1-0, man on 2nd), and holding all else equal the rally is stymied with the score tied at 1. Instead the Yankees put together a long 2-out rally.

So I guess with those numbers the Astros won't see him in the opening round series unless there's a long extra inning game. A's better keep him on the playoff roster if they don't want him to air their dirty laundry.

There are a few former Astros on the 2021-2022 free agent list:

    C Jason Castro
    C Robinson Chirinos
    IF Jed Lowrie
    IF/OF Jonathan Villar
    IF/OF Enrique Hernandez
    IF/OF Marwin Gonzalez
    OF Robbie Grossman
    OF Jake Marisnick
    OF Hunter Pence
    RP Ken Giles
    RP Mark Melancon

Aside from Pence I could see any of those position players being a fit on Houstons roster for the right price. I especially think Villar, Hernandez, and Grossman could be really good values on cheap multiyear deals.

I also think the OF prospect they got (Corona) could be a good one. Although looks like Luhnow might’ve gotten hosed on the JD Davis trade with Brodie so call it even.
