I'm disappointed it's not in German.

In the meantime I'm still on Japanese bubble gum pop death metal.

Ironically, Ghostemane’s fiancé, Poppy, has been compared to this band.

Not to go all metal-nerd on you, but exactly 0% of that was doom or death metal.

This album is legitimately anxiety inducing.

Favorite song from the album. Part at 2:50 gets me everytime.

Why/How the hell did that work? Reminds of those mashups that come from left field but just mesh.

Thank god. A crowd like that during this pandemic would be ****ed. I appreciate the artist wearing a mask early tho.

I got the death/doom from this blurb from Ghostemane's Wikipedia page

Lyrically, Ghostemane's themes focus around occultism, depression, nihilism, and death. Whitney started his career as a musician playing guitar in hardcore punk bands, drums in doom metal bands,[10] and has stated that his biggest influence is black metal band Bathory.[9] He spent most of his teenage years listening to extreme metal bands such as Deicide, Death, Carcass and Mayhem.[7] In terms of rap music, Ghostemane is influenced by Southern rap groups such as Outkast and Three 6 Mafia. Ghostemane has also went on to cite Midwest rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as an early influence. [22]
Personally, I find genre-bending music fascinating. It's like eating a new plate of completely exotic fusion food with spices you've never tasted.

My reaction to Ghostemane's music reminded me of the first time I heard Skinny Puppy way back in the day or Ministry's harder sounds in the later 80's, or Die Antwoord's music. Do I like it? I don't know. Is it interesting? Yes.
