    That would have been bad.

I didn't even see the movie in theater. So it's possible he would have pushed it right into the mainstream out of the gate. Plus he might have caught the black panther wave early. He was a perfectionist. So it's plausible. But we would have a hard time buying into the superior intellect required.

    it could have worked.

i've always felt this movie has been the closest to a proper x-men movie:

mj playing a straight role would've been interesting

I think he would've done a better job playing Nightcrawler

    He could play a Morlock.

And since he can sing & dance, he COULD have played Professor X, in the Legion TV show. Or Spiderman 3.

I took my baby on a Saturday stroll
Girl is that mutant with you?
Yes we're one and the same
    Now I believe in miracles
And a miracle has happened tonight
But, if you're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're mutant or not
They print my message in the Daily Bugle
I had to tell them I ain't second to none
And I told about equality and it's true
Either you're wrong or you're right
But, if you're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're mutant or not
    I am tired of sentinels
I am tired of this stuff
I am tired of this X-tinction Agenda
So when the going gets rough
I ain't scared of your brother
I ain't scared of no normal
    I ain't scared of nobody
Girl, when the going gets mean
    I got mutant powers
    For anti-mutant clubs and nations
    Causing grief in mutant-human relations
It's a turf war on a global scale
I'd rather hear both sides of the tale
    See, it's not about species
    Just places, faces
    Whether your blood comes with
    X-genes or just a space
I've seen the bright get duller
I'm not going to spend my life being just a mutant
Don't tell me you agree with me
When I saw you kicking dirt in my eye
But, if you're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're mutant or not
I said if you're thinkin' of being my baby
It don't matter if you're mutant or not
I said if you're thinkin' of being my brother
It don't matter if you're mutant or not
    Ooh, ooh
    Yea, yea, yea now
    Ooh, ooh
    Yea, yea, yea now
    It's mutant, it's not
It's tough for you to get by (yeah, yeah, yeah)
    It's mutant, it's not
    It's mutant, it's not
It's tough for you to get by (yeah, yeah, yeah)
    It's mutant, it's not

Confused? Michael Jackson's Black or White is perfect for an X-Men musical with a few tweaks especially considering racism and prejudice were the underlying themes in the X-Men comics.

Michael was a good actor, he was great in the Wiz and his music videos were basically all short films. Every role he played was believable. Now as far as Prof X...ehhh that might've been a stretch.

Shocking that he wanted to play a character who can control minds and runs a school for children.
