Rockets will target free agents from Thunder, 76ers, Pacers, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, and Magic (ie all the other teams staying at the same hotel in Orlando and they can “tamper” ).

interesting thought. Plus WB spent plenty of time recently in OKC. Plus 76ers targeted Morey for GM. ;)

Thanks. The Rockets should consider Noah Vonleh. He is a UFA with Non- Bird Rights. He probably might be available for the MLE. Marcus Morris is the best of the lot, but I’m sure he will get far more than that.

Re-sign Jeff Green with the Vet minimum. I doubt if Morey can acquire anyone better than him with it.

Aside from Gordon’s trade value, the Rockets would likely be near or over the apron level and would not be able to field a team if they were hard-capped by doing a S&T.
Both. Christian Wood will be an unrestricted free agent AND the Pistons have Early Bird rights (as opposed to a restricted free agent right of first refusal) to him. I strongly doubt the Rockets could afford him. Odds are the Pistons keep him or (less likely) he gets a ridiculously larger offer from another team.

I love this irony. A poster named "raining threes" suggests an NBA player for the three heavy Houston Rockets that has never hit a three in an NBA game in two seasons. You might be right, but it's definitely in the irony bucket!

    Marcus Morris
    Jae Crowder
    Nerlens Noel
    Paul Milsap minus 8-10 lbs
Serge Ibaka if microball fails badly

Any of these guys can at least be in the rotation.

He's like Capela but with better range on his shot. I saw highlights of him hitting 3's when he played overseas.

If the Rockets want to keep collecting wings, Josh Jackson could be a nice *buy low* candidate with potential big upside. He has had his issues, but it seems things have settled down with him in Memphis.

Also agree that Giles is worth a look. Kind of injury prone but a big upside and at a position of need.

Both of those guys would add some nice youth and athleticism to the roster.

    Along these lines:

Aaron Gordon forces trade to Houston for... Eric Gordon?

Magic get SG to replace Evan Fournier when he leaves for more money (Atlanta?) elsewhere and give room for their young bigs take minutes, Rockets get their version of the Matrix (i.e. Shawn Marion). Rockets will have to throw in Danuel House to make the money work. Would be an interesting starting lineup, although the rest of the roster would all be minimum guys.

Think of them both as reclamation projects, e.g. Ben McLemore.

Don't want to be the team that pays Christian Wood. Nice skills, but gets lost.

Not a guy that I would gamble on for a playoff series.

    Like this idea.

Another variation that involves multiple teams (Morey staple):

    ORL: Oladipo
    IND: EGo, House, Rockets FRP
    HOU: AG

Magic receive all star SG who is also strong defender to fit system. Still young player plus Magic can correct wrong when Oladipo was sent out prematurely. Oladipo also has chemistry with Vuc.

Pacers get a player who wants to be in Indiana (EGo returns home) plus young starter in House with ability to stretch floor as well as Rockets first round pick.

Aaron Gordon adds a long 25 yrs old forward that improves switch everything defense and offensively adds another playmaker who can roll to rim, create own shot as well as improving 3P shooter.

Roster for next season (guaranteed contracts).

    Russ
    Harden
    RoCo
    PJ
    AG

BMac and Nwaba as first players off bench.

Min vet signing options: Jeff Green, Josh Jackson, Harry Giles, Bruno Caboclo, Luc Mbah a Moute, Tyler Johnson, Theo Pinson, Marvin Williams, Joakim Noah

Re-sign Austin Rivers with Bird rights, potential trade asset. Sign and Trade targets for following season: Jerami Grant, Serge Ibaka, Kelly Oubre

MLE options: Aron Baynes, Mo Harkless, Marcus Morris, Nerlens Noel

Harry Giles has never played overseas.

Not nearly as long as Capela or as good defender/rebounder.

    More like a playmaking big.

I came here to say Josh Jackson.

Feels like he has been in the league forever now but he is just 22. Dude has a 7’5 wingspan, watched his scout video and they were projecting him as a “big” which is good since that’s probably what he would be here :D

but forreal he was 50th in the league in ORPM. Cray cray!

I think Jackson can be the instant offense off the bench. He is better ball handler and passer than EGo and could be the better defender at 6'8.

Just needs to improve his 3ball.

I would take the trade as is. It fixes almost everything. My hope is Eric Gordon goes off the charts over the next few weeks and we can keep both House and the FRP. Remember EG contract extension kick in at season’s end.

I have no idea what Aaron Gordon does well. He fades away during games and with his body type and athleticism, you would think his rebound numbers would be higher. He’s a utility player he does a lot things ok but nothing exceptional. Rather keep EG and make an offer to Giles

He would be Capela like as roller/lob threat and running floor like madman, much much better switch everything defender but with much higher BBIQ, ability to be secondary playmaker, can put ball on floor and attack rim and another threat to shoot 3.

Aaron Gordon is not a franchise player but he would be amazing in Draymond Green role for Rockets.

And still has potential to become more at still 25 yrs old. Would be a stud in MDA system.

    Think hybrid of Amare/Matrix/Diaw.
