I've noticed you have had to keep reiterating this 100% thing. I would think most people would understand nothing is ever a complete sure thing but that doesn't seem to be the case. It may not be 100% but its an extremely good chance this will succeed given all the measures in place in a controlled environment. We are about a week away from this thing actually starting with exhibition games. months ago it was they have no chance. a few weeks ago it was lets see if they make it to travel day. last week it was lets how it goes when they get to orlando and when all the testing begins.

Yeah, you can see the dynamic on Twitter... as soon as there's a single positive within the bubble itself, the doom and gloom is going to explode.

With a baseline of zero, same-day testing turnarounds, and the ability to contact trace... it should be manageable. It is completely apples and oranges from conditions in the "real world" allowing cases to blow up.

Keeping the bubble intact and safe and rooting for your team to win it all are two different things.

For me personally it has gotten to the point that this virus has shaken up the perspective for me.

At this point I am just glad that the tourney is looking positive, and looking to finish.

Whoever wins, it's a great accomplishment but I am not going to lie, I am not really invested in that any longer. Just hope everyone is safe.

    2020 is helluva year.

How is it a positive example for society to see an entertainment project located in the middle of the pandemic epicentre? Wasting daily hundreds of tests, having hundreds of personel puting their lives at risk by working, having doctors and nurses be wasted to take care of entertainment?

A positive example for society would be everyone to come together to save as many as possible and dedicate all money and resources to suppress the spread and death in Florida. If the NBA donated all these tests and money to battle covid that would be positive example.

You're taking that comment out of context. We were discussing the safety of the NBA's protocols, and whether they're sufficient to keep the vast majority of the league's players and coaches safe. I was responding to someone who was skeptical. In that context, yes... every time one of these bubbles works, it shows that procedures such as widespread testing and contract tracing can work to combat this virus. Quite frankly, given the resources they've spent, it would be depressing if they fail.

You're discussing, at a much higgher level, the ethics of any U.S. sport's return in the current environment. That's a different discussion than the one I was addressing.

    Rick Carlisle took a glimpse.

Artificial audience noise and virtual fans or fan reactions live from their homes, similar to the Premier league.

True, but society is no utopian place.

You have lived in it long enough to know what capitalism is about.

The NBA is no different, but they at least try to broadcast entertainment while making money.
