Another "acting" in order to bypass senate confirmation... in the past, the Senate would have wanted to exercise its constitutional role of confirming cabinet nominees... And... as usual, only the best...
trump appears to be continuing his purge... Scoop: Top NSC official reassigned to Energy Department amid "Anonymous" fallout https://www.axios.com/scoop-top-nsc...out-83edb9b8-d47e-4211-baf7-e06b99004c85.html
Does trump ever actually think about these sorts of things... or, I don't know, discuss it with the person he is considering? Now trust me, I couldn't think of anyone least qualified to head up America's intelligence gathering nor anyone that would be so dangerously beholding of trump in the role, so I am happy doug collins isn't interested (at least if you can even believe him). But it seems embarrassing that trump names someone that has no interest. Guess this shows how far down the bottom of the barrel trump needs to scrape...
Since so many trump cabinet and admin hires have turned out to be "never trumpers", trump has assigned someone to be the "never trumper" screener to make sure all future hires and appointments are "loyal to trump".
ie, trump naming doug collins as dni replacement, without discussing with collins, who says he isn't interested.
I will say living in DC that even the staunchest Republicans are afraid of working for this WH. Most politicians are hard to work with or work for. But that- combined with the anti establishment and cultlike nature of the Trump WH- has left only true believers wanting to work there. The irony being, ofc, that the young true believers here are so terrified of interacting with people that dont look, talk, or worship like them that theyre useless. This WH is the most dysfunctional weve seen in decades
The continuing chaos and diminution of America is no surprise. A former cabinet member recently wrote a book about the dip$hit-in-chief. Here's what he (or she) thinks: Things have only moved from bad to worse. If you have not read the book, you should, especially if you still feel he is okay, like some moderate Democrats believe, despite his inadequacies.
Yet another way trump is avoiding constitutional requirements... this time regarding cabinet positions. And the republican senate ignores their constitutional duties of advise and consent...
