James Harden is 6’5 and at least 240lbs. There’s no reason he shouldn’t take those little babies” as Russ says, in the post and score easy buckets or draw fouls. If they bring a double that’s even more open shots for our 3pt shooters. If Russ can do it, so can James.

Harden stopped going to his very good post game to increase efficiency. I doubt he ever goes back to it but it would be a good wrinkle for the playoffs.

He's already scoring almost 40 points per game as well as picked up his defensive intensity in recent seasons.

The only next step that he needs to take is to win a championship. I'm not sure what he himself can do at this point regarding our team's deficiencies - I just hope Fertita doesn't order Morey to go under the luxury tax, and we can actually compete for a championship especially with a KD-less Warrior out of the picture.

Floater is more important than post game. It opens up all kinds of options for Harden.

Making that floater at a high rate is the only thing he needs to do. Otherwise, he has done everything and anything anyone could have ever imagined except winning a ring. He is an all time great, just keep winning

    Reduce turnovers

Play at same defensive level as he occasionally does when he’s actually good defensively

move off the ball a little bit when the offense starts getting bogged down

    The floater worries me.
The Refs calling bullshit offensive fouls is my worry
I expect that to increase in the playoffs

You're right that he could develop some post moves, left and right hand hooks. It would be fresh air for playoff series where he is double teamed or very well defended outside. For instance, Bledsoe gave him some issues (helped by all his team), Harden could punish him in the post.

I see him practicing that as he gets older and loses that first step.

He needs to work harder on his height. He would be unstoppable at 6.11”

    Shoot 42% from three.

Oh wait, he’s been doing that over the last 27 games, since the MIA fiasco.

    Speaking of turnovers

First 17 games this season he was averaging 5.5 turnovers per game

Last 16 games he is down to 3.8 per game

Will be interesting to see if he can keep them that low the rest of the year.

He must break Michael Jordan Records for average most score this year to secure his MVP title. I think MDA should give him more time to play to break this record, even in rubbish time
