I think he's over it...as he's seen, first hand, that what he does on the court doesn't really change people's minds anyway. It's all about winning.

The best revenge to that would be to win. Then, just for kicks, win again. and maybe again. Basically, f'em...and the best way to f'em is to win.

This idiot just contradicted himself about bias against Harden.

With Westbrook I don't see Harden being in the running. Harden's numbers will go down so will his usage.

Paul George got votes with Westbrook. Harden got it with Paul. Lebron is getting love with Davis joining. Even perennially-overrated Leonard is still getting votes with Paul George. And Curry has always gotten votes with a stacked squad.

If anyone uses Westbrook as a rationale to not vote for Harden, they're drinking crack koolaid.

    Giannis - Legit MPV.

Curry He might be in the conversation assuming he doesn't miss many games and he carry's that team to a top 4 seed but odds are he misses 10+

Lebron played 55 games last year. Even if he plays 60-65 this year …. that's not enough to be in the conversation.
Cant be an MVP if you aint on the court.

Embiid has been in the league 3 years and missed 51 , 19 & 18 games. Odds are he missed at least 18 again this year.
Cant be an MVP if you aint on the court.

Davis missed 26 games last season and no fewer than 7 in any season since he's been in the league. The Lakers talking bout load management for him too. You cant miss 10%+ of the season and be in the MVP conversation.

Jokic could have a legit shot if the Nuggets finish top 3-4 in the West.

Kawhi …. averages 50ish games a year , sat out 22 last year. MVP's don't sit out a quarter of the year.

We all know that Houston will be first in the West and Harden will have great stats. But Curry will lead GS to a 5th seed. Of course the media will reward Curry for carrying a GS team who just lost Durant to a play off spot with the MVP.

Who's their competition ? …. They really don't have any aside from the channels dedicated to each league.

That's why this hasn't caught up to them.

What they are trying to do is dictate which markets the best FA's will consider as they want those huge market teams and teams with coast to coast recognition at the top of the standings. They don't want Milwaukee & Phoenix or Utah in the finals. Not good for views when those small market teams steal a spot.

Giannis will finish out this contract and head to one of the big markets - just like Kawhi walked away from a team that won a championship. One of LA , NY , SF , Boston , Brooklyn , Miami or Chicago … that's the short list. …. Morey interested in Giannis , thinks he has a chance - cant wait for that epic thread..

Guys like George don't need to create their own shot like Harden does. Harden's game is based on having the ball in his hands. He's not a catch and shoot type player or a cutter. Paul bent to fit with Harden. I don't think Westbrook will do the same.

Not really. Harden's performance has been so ungodly good in the regular season, he's forced his way into the Top 2 consistently.

But there's almost always a narrative swaying against him...

Their 'competition' is people using their brains, to realize what they are being told is a pile of crap.

Does most of their audience do that? No.

There are all kinds of alternative sources...internet is full of sources. This board is one of them. Which is why I go here, and never listen to their crap.

Yes. They have an agenda. In addition to having people who really aren't very good at making predictions about anything. Both of these would tell anyone thinking about it 'Hey, this is bull crap, and I shouldn't listen to it'.

Anthony Davis is the clear cut favourite.
He has been a little overlooked in his carreer because he played with the Pelicans.

Now this year the media will suddendly "rediscover" him and with some endorsement from Lebron and the Lakers hype machine he has it in the bag imo.

Overlooked? Not sure if serous, @malakas. ESPN has been thirsting for AD on bottom feeding Pelicans. It didn't matter how bad their record was, they would put him on the MVP ladder no matter what.

The media hate for Harden reminds me of an old Malcolm in the Middle episode where Reese is convinced his teacher fails him because he doesn't like him. His mom doesn't believe him but Malcolm does. So Malcolm writes one of his papers for him and sure enough he fails him. Their mom goes nuclear on the teacher who proceeds to state that his vendetta against Reese goes back to his childhood when kids like Reese picked on him and bullied him.

Is it clear who the primary ballhandler will be? Harden's the better player, obviously, but he's also far more capable off the ball than Russ.

Interesting theory. He might have a chip on his shoulder after the way it all went down in NO...if he starts playing angry for a change you might be right.

No he didn't. Go back and read what he said. He's agreeing that there's NO ARGUMENT to be made for why Harden isn't in the Top 7 of this list. He's basically calling out his media colleagues for the bias THEY possess.
