My guess is that he will have many opportunities available to him in the near future. That makes retiring much easier I would think. Coaching, announcing, management. Not all former players have a lot of opportunities.

Sounds like he was tried to dealing with all the injuries, there’s more to life than just football.

From all reports he was a great dude on and off the field. He'd get pummeled after a pass and would get up and tell the defender "good hit." And yes, the letters from Captain Andrew Luck were the nuts. Sucks that he was a Colt, but much respect to his competitiveness and how he played the game.

Jesus. I hope he finds peace.

No reason for him to make himself the NFL's Richard Cory.

I'd still be pissed if I was an Indy fan, but what can you do? Football Outsiders's contributor Ben Muth had an interesting tweet about this.

As you can read, and see the whole tweet chain from him, he said that this made him understand why teams asked draftees so often about 'how much do you love football?' IE, you don't have any other options to make money than this, do you?

LOL, nah. He won't. He's got money and his health. He risks one of those if he decides to come back.

I’m guessing it’s for his health
It’s better than being any of these dudes who have issues later in life with too many football injuries

Not beyond the realms of possibility.
Brisset has a good line in front of him and plenty of time as a starter.
Remember how Marlon Mack ran all over us last game? And they still have Hilton.

It didn't help that the Colts went out of their way in the providing Luck with one of the crappiest lines in the NFL. He got hit a lot. It was not as bad as Houston's last year, but He's no Deshaun Watson either.
