I took a quick road trip to Kickapoo Lucky Eagle casino in Eagle Pass this weekend. I started off with a nice $365 win on Buffalo Gold with a $1.20 bet just $10 into the night. I played pretty conservative the rest of the night and it was up and down, but pretty much stayed even, until the end of the night when I decided to just use the remainder of the winnings to max bet one machine hoping for a good hit. Needless to say, I broke even on the night, but had a lot of fun. If you play the slot machines or video poker, what's your biggest one hit win? What amount won, what machine, how much was the bet, and where/what casino?
Hardly play slots but I occasionally play Video poker. Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Video Poker(ACES or higher game) $1.25 Bet and got 4 aces for $1k.
I forgot to mention I saw one guy waiting on an attendant for a $10k jackpot and witnessed another lady win $2500 betting $2.20 on some game called Elephant Stampede. I swear she maxed out on Free Spins with 250. A few years ago in Vegas at Harrah's, saw a young guy, couldn't be older than 25 with a $990,000 win on Willy Wonka with a $6 max bet.
Why play slots when you can actually play a card game in a casino? I don't really get the appeal of slots. We
The flashing lights, sounds, the anticipation of hitting bonuses and hitting that huge "jackpot" would be my guess. I understand the appeal but it's not for me. Even though the odds are ridiculously against you, it doesn't stop the feeling of possibly winning $10k on a $5 bet.
Right there with you, slot machines do absolutely nothing for me. Plus, the money goes A LOT faster playing slots for anything more than $.25 a spin, and you pretty much have to go higher if you want to win anything more than $20.
Just this past July at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on a Pan Am slot machine. I hit a bonus round along with one of the smaller jackpots for a total of $900+ on a $2 bet. Previous was a hit of $673 at the Coushatta Casino in Louisiana on one of the Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter machines on a bonus round.
I have a long term strategy on the 5 cents slots, and I've walked away with as much as $500 just using my system. I feel pretty good about it. And I play Texas Tea. My biggest bet was Birdstone to win the Belmont at 60-1. I collected big time. I also bet my friend 40-1 that the Reds would SWEEP Jose Canseco and the A's and I took home $40.
Correct. I'm not a big gambler, so when we go to Vegas, our only objective is to get as many free drinks as possible at each casino. Just put a dollar in a penny slot, bet a nickle at a time and wait for a waitress. Treat her with respect and tip her well and she will keep coming back. It helps if your wife is there making small talk....it cuts down on the slime-factor. My wife can make friends with anyone if you give her 60 seconds. Sometimes we'll win $10 on a nickle spin and that just means more free drinks. Fun to see how long you can make a dollar last and how many drinks you can get during that time. It's like a game within a game.
Back in the 90's the fam was at Paradise Island, Bahamas and my mom and brother (11 yo) were walking through the casino and she played the slots a bit and then let my brother pull the lever...won around $1000. Apparently even in the Bahamas kids aren't supposed to be gambling, management was pissed, and it took a while to convince them to actually pay her. I'll put $5 in the slots every once in a while, just to chill and have a couple of drinks, but it's not really my thing at all.
While in Vegas, we stopped by Old Vegas to check it out and I forget what casino, but I put in $5 dollars on the way out and max betted 2 or 3 times and hit $80 bucks. Took it and left. Thats the most Ive ever played a slot and the most Ive ever won.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose. I don't care to play cards in Vegas, but I enjoy playing cards with my buddies.
Holy cow. Nice win! I can't imagine the OH CRAP moment when it hit. What machine and what was your bet?
I turned $13 in video blackjack to $100. Cashed out and went to a roulette table. Bet $100 on red. Win. Bet $200 on red. Win. Bet $400 on red, employee and my friends talked me out of it so I bet $100 on red. Lost. Walked away with $300. Not a bad night.
Yeah, I only play cards, maybe $20 in a slot for the hell of it, but real poker (NL cash/tournament) or blackjack is it.
