I'm worried because he was hot trash in the Playoffs last year too & I'm usually not one to kneejerk. Total no-show against OKC, San Antonio, Minny & now so far Utah. Clint, Tucker, Ariza, Green & now Luc have all outplayed him easily when he should arguably be our 3rd best player, our Klay Thompson.
EG is a role player...don't expect franchise player reliable playing. Role players are streakish. EG was cold today, he will be better next game. The players we have to worry about having a bad game are our Big 3...Capela, Paul, and Harden. From now on, they must have good to great games...no excuses or lax playing.
Except for in game 3 of the Timberwolves series where Gerald had close to 20 points, Gerald had the worst + / - on the team. Geralds defense on Andrew Wiggins was horrible. Despite their lack of shooting, both Eric Gordan and Ryan Anderson had more of a positive impact in the Wolves series and in this game against the Jazz. Eric Gordan's defense is much, much better than Gerald Green. While I would like to see Gerald Green on the floor in certain situations, he should not be playing ahead of Eric Gordan.
5 players are the example for Gordon, consistency Manu Ginobili Tony Kukoc Vinnie Johnson Jason Terry Robert Horry
Yes, Lou is a much better player than Gordon, and he is "crazy" low cost. Ryan and Gordon are very expensive for a bench.
Offensively probably. But Lou was/is a terrible defender. It is what it is now, but barring some miraculous turnaround I’d be ok with moving him and ryno in the off season if it meant getting another star or really good player.
Lou is a much better offensive player, he can score in multitude of ways and can actually pass. EG is very one-dimensional compared to Lou. Defensively EG is better, but it's not like EG is some lockdown defender himself. It's basically average D vs below average D. I really wish we could've kept them both, but whatever.
Lou would score and let the other team score too. Look, I loved having him in Houston, but dude was a swiss cheese on defense.
More like non streaky always above 40% 3pt shooting Ryan Anderson with decent average ball handling skills . JJ Reddick would immediately be the best pure shooter on our team. He also run off the ball really well. He would be a consistent reliable shooter night in and night out unlike Ryno and EG .
I was thinking the same thing. He was a no show in the playoffs last year and so far it’s the same story. If it continues you have to question his future on the team if he can’t deliver when it really matters.
