You are right about Denver having tie breaker over NO but actually SA and Denver are tied 1-1. If SA loses and Denver wins then they will be tied in record and conf record. So it would be determined by who has the better record against Playoff bound teams in their conference. Not sure which team has that but I'll take your word that Denver beats out SA. That means we would play SA or NO in the first round if Denver wins. DAMN! I am definitely rooting for SA to win that game against NO or at least Minny to beat Denver.

Not that it matters much but they'll play the Grizzlies on Wednesday (not Phoenix).

You're right. Phoe and Memphis are the same team to me. Both wanting to lose at all cost ;)

Assuming that Minny beats Denver at Minny (4-0 this year vs. Nuggets), Thunder beat Memphis, and Portland holds on to the 3 seed against the Jazz... the real game to watch is then Spurs vs. Pels.

    Spurs win:

    1. Houston
    2. GSW
    3. Portland
    4. Jazz
    5. Spurs
    6. Thunder
    7. Minny
    8. Pels

    Pels win:

    1. Houston
    2. GSW
    3. Portland
    4. Jazz
    5. Pels
    6. Thunder
    7. Spurs
    8. Minny

My bad, so it would be based on my early predictions - only OKC I really got wrong:

Jazz, Blazers, Pelicans & Thunder 48-34

    7. Spurs
    8. Twolves 47-35

    How would 3 to 6 shake out if it's a 4-way tie?

I'm sure somebody has pointed out that if the Jazz beat Portland, Utah is third and Portland is fourth.

Jazz could lose GS and beat Portland and Portland would still be the third seed. (assuming OKC wins).

Right you are. Thought they were down to one game left apiece.

Yeah, looks like they will be running into all the other tough competition pretty much straight away. Getting first seed was a big deal this year.

    ESPN BPI has it:

    Western Conference

    • (1) Rockets vs. (8) Pelicans

    • (2) Warriors vs. (7) Wolves

    • (3) Blazers vs. (6) Spurs

    • (4) Thunder vs. (5) Jazz
So if this holds true the Warriors get a break while Curry heals avoiding OKC, Jazz or Spurs in the first round where they would probably be most vulnerable. Our second round match makes it no cupcake for us either.

regardless- we can beat any team.. I think the Jazz would beat the Thunder and we should have a fun match up against the Jazz on the second round.

What are the chances the West remains exactly as is?

Won't happen unless the Thunder lose to Memphis, aka, won't happen...
