so whats more appealing to the masses? Rondo on a 2 year prove it deal? (2nd year player option) Or Conley at a 4 year Max?
Honestly I think we should sign multiple guys and hope to get them on quality contracts. The only Max guy I see worth his contract (besides the obvious pipe dream of Durant) is Whiteside. He is a headache potentially and possibly has maturity issues but his max is so low that it's likely worth the risk under the new cap. I would sign Whiteside to 20m Sign Marvin Williams to 7-9m Sign dudley to 5-7m Sign teletovic to 6-8m Sign courtney lee to 6-8m Trade ariza for future first after or during the draft(extra 8m cap space) Sign delladova to 5-7m Dump brewer (7m more cap space likely gonna cost a prospect, let's say harrell and a future 2nd rd pick or two) Renounce Jones Renounce dmo Let smith, jet, goudelock walk Bev/delly Harden/Lee/kj Dudley/Lee/kj Marvin/teletovic/Beasley Whiteside/capela You could possibly find a trade for capela +1st from ariza trade and bev for an upgrade at the PG spot like a teague or hill. But then you will have to find a capable backup big. Anyways there is lots of possibilities but this would give us a much more potent offense and I don't see it being any worse defensively. All players run well and can shoot the 3 ball for damntoni
You right, not breakout but definitely solid play (imo) when given the time... Here's his averages for this past season with the Nets: 10 Games @ 20+ Minutes Points -- 13.1 Rebounds -- 11.9 Assists -- 1.8 Blocks -- 0.3 Steals -- 1.4 Turnovers -- 2.1 4 Games @ 30+ Minutes Points -- 18.8 Rebounds -- 14 Assists -- 2.8 Blocks -- 0.3 Steals -- 1.5 Turnovers -- 2.8
I read today that Detriot doesn't plan on using him as the focal point of a championship team? Maybe suggesting not giving him a max?
They probably mean that they don't plan to use him as a go to guy, and this would be smart since he sucks.
Drummond is Dwight 2.0. I am not sure we can bring in top FAs from how we're perceived by everyone around the league. I'd probably go with players nobody is really dying to get but are talented enough to perform (aka under performing players) -Jeff Green -Brandon Jennings (assuming health is good) -Joe Johnson (he's still Joe Cool) -Eric Gordon -Kevin Martin -Gerald Green Obviously if you can nab players like Durant and Horford, you do it, but let's be honest, we've seen our Front Office attempt to sign many a top Free Agent, and while we've been successful with Dwight, he was about it. You could even make an argument for Josh Smith when he got waived. Anyway, just preparing for the worst, so to speak. Here's to a surprising Free Agency!
After watching the playoffs I'd say no to Batum, Marvin Williams & Lee. Lee will not accept a back up spot, Batum is not a creator & Marvin was MIA. Durant and Horford are not coming, Conley an outside shot, but don't bank on it. I do think Horford & Conley are the first two guys you talk to, followed by Gasol & Barnes (for the right price), Noah, Teletovic, Anderson, Bazemore & Dudley. To round out, go see if we could get Seth Curry, Bayless and Ezeli / Mahinmi.
with D'Antoni on board -> offer Harrison Barnes the max to play PF ? and i'd like Batum as our starting SF too ... it's not like we have a real shot at getting Durant ...
Something we should do and needed to be done during the trade deadline is trade for Trey Burke as well as Ben McLemore. Both players with potential who are shooters.
Well, they have no reason to not match even a max...Iggy is gettin old and their team is set, he may not be that good, but he's still young, has upside and he's a starter in one of the best teams ever...if they cannot get Durant, they have zero reasons to not match a max for Barnes...imo at least.
Brilliant breakdown analysis of chandler parsons. Mike Comley is the guy we need, do something of value for a change morie
We can't choose the wrong guys either. I'm not saying that the season should be sacrificed for flexibility, we need one star, and a couple of role players who will help us now, and in the future. It's a tall order, let's hope for the best.
