He ain't wrong. It's ultimately Moreys fault for not hiring a proper coach to put players in positions to succeed. The entire season felt like we were playing street ball.
Clyde wasn't exactly a stud defensively himself. Always gambled in the lanes for those steals. Harden just loves to swipe and try and get himself a steal or leave his man to try and get a behind the back block. Defensive stat padding at its finest.
Dwight has unusually high rate of uncontested rebounds. Talk about stat padding. If you read the quote closely, Drexler throws a subtle jab at Howard's 'supposed' defense.
he's right on the money. he has virtually no help. everyone but harden, and with the exception beasley, kj, hrarel and capela, should be traded.
It's true. Dwight's defense fell off a cliff this year. His loss of athleticism probably has something to do with it, but his effort was lacking also. That's not good when it defense is your primary skill.
I will be glad when Howard is gone to see who the Harden fans will bash next... Everyone was to blame for this awful season, from Les all the way to the players. T_Man
HAHHAHAHAHH Clyde Drexler? When you have to quote Clyde of all people to justify Harden's lack of D, you know you're already wrong. Clyde was a great player but his commentary is extremely biased and often wrong.
It ain't about truth no mo'. It's about trending. It's about clicks. ESPN, TNT, and all the little online sports news outlets...that's the business. People, even many of our own here, roll their eyes and say we're just being sensitive. Do people react negatively to spin? Sure. But it doesn't mean the spin doesn't exist. Harden is not a ball hog. He just isn't.
It doesent matter what he said about the offense was 100 percent true.....if we had a better supporting cast he would have 3-4 more assists per game guaranteed. Not to mention it wouldve forced the people guarding them not to sag off and fill the lane. He is a top 3 offensive player in the nba today. defense is another story but like the glide said ....there is so much burden put on him offensively that there is no way shape or form does anyone in thsi world have the capability to give defense that same "energy". Clydes point....Harden was brought to make the offense elite...check Howard was brought to make the defense elite.....what do you think?
Clyde says a lot of dumb **** http://nba.nbcsports.com/2012/06/26...ed-magic-johnson-because-he-was-going-to-die/
What I think and I know is you need all 5 players to play defense and all 5 players to be involved in the offense. Obviously, they'll have different levels of importance but nonetheless you need them involved on both sides. Case in point - GSW You cannot pick and chose and say Harden only play offense and Howard only play defense. That doesn't work esp when you have two max contracts. It affects chemistry as we saw last season.
