New season starts this week for many leagues. Can Liverpool repeat? Or will City dominate...or will Chelsea get into the fray with all of their moves? Will Barca be a dumpster fire? Can anyone remotely challenge Bayern or PSG in their respective leagues?
Bayern needs to add a little more veteran depth, it will be a season with a lot of matches. From last year's team, Perisic, Coutinho, Martinez, Odriozola and likely Thiago are gone. We did add Sané, I predict he will be less reliable than Perisic...higher ups, but also some lows. And our speedy wings are injury-prone (as these types of players tend to be). Chelsea will be a lot stronger this year than last year, lots of upside and speed, with Havertz and Werner.
Seems the front office is cheaping out on all of that, despite this being a season filled to the brim with English weeks. Guess they're satisfied with having won the treble and now have no urge to win this season, shame for Flick.
I'm still concerned about ManU not even being linked to any center backs currently. I'd rather they convince Smalling to stay than another season with Lindeloff. Now with Tottenham swooping in to possibly get both Bale and Regulion, Woodward looks to be stuck holding the bag again. There's certainly talent...but there's not enough depth in defense right now. This mindset of being so tunnel-visioned on one player for much of the transfer season keeps backfiring. They spent so much time focused on Sancho, even when it was clear early on that it was going to be too expensive, that they let other moves pass them by.
