Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess).

7-22 Brett Oberholtzer, LHP vs. Scott Kazmir, LHP 9:05

7-23 Brad Peacock, RHP vs. Jesse Chavez, RHP 9:05

7-24 Scott Feldman, RHP vs. Jeff Samardzija, RHP 2:35

Wow, how did the umpire miss Altuve getting tagged out 3 separate times at second after getting picked off?

I've seen enough, Obie needs to stay in the rotation.

I personally would just try to force a Feldman trade, even if we have to eat some of the salary. I'm sure the Astros are cheap haters will have a field day with us dumping our highest paid player for nothing LOL.

Simple fact is we signed Feldman thinking we needed a capable major league pitcher, but I think most of us would agree that Keuchel/McHugh/Cosart/Obie have established themsevles as capable 4/5 starters at the least, and they do it much cheaper. With all of these starters nearing the end of the minors there is really no point having a player like Feldman eating starts.

If they want anything of real value for him, they're going to have to pay most (if not all) of his remaining salary.

They grossly overpaid him, likely because that is what it takes to lure players to the worst team in baseball.

I don't think they grossly overpaid compared to what other teams would have paid him. His deal also is a 12-10-8 structure, so that will help.

I do think we need to eat most of his contract to trade him for something, because he won't exactly be in high demand as a BOTR starter.
