Syria is in a poor condition, yes. But why is America pretending as if they care about what is going on in other countries? Palestine has been suffering from the hands of Israel for way too long, and not a damn thing has been done about it.

Something seems so fishy about this whole plan of going to Syria. Rumor has it Assad already fled to Iran.

They are struggling to do so and cannot do it without big time support from the US both financially and in the UN. Apartheid in South African could not endure
and it won't in Israel as world opinion continues to shift.

They do have their nukes but they can't for practical purposes nuke the Palestinians.

Because Israel has the US by the balls, and you can thank Evangelicals for that. There are other factors, oil and the defense industry, but it's mostly about us being Israel's enforcer.

Obama does all he can to resist this. With McCain or Romney, we'd already be in Iran, so it could be worse.

    Lol @ Evangelicals.

The same Evangelicals who are pro-life and anti-gay. How is that working for them.

We are only allies with Israel because they are the only country in that region who want to be allies with us. When you have a whole region with serious issues with martyrdom and terrorism, you really can't be picky with your allies. Our country does more questionable things across the globe, much less not having an enemy next door.

Should have just gave Dallas to Israel as a country, would have solved 90% of the problems in the middle east.

We didn't 'care' about Syria for the last 2 years until chemical weapons were used. As far as I know, there are no chemical weapons being used with the Palestinians.

And that's because our unwavering lapdog allegiance to Israel alienates us in the ME.

And the Israeli/Evangelical/GOP trinity is well documented. The GOP doesn't even try to hide it. Christie hasn't even announced yet, and he's already visited Israel. The media openly acknowledges his reason for doing so, which is him demonstrating his allegiance in order to be a "serious" GOP candidate for President.

It is pretty sad when politicians in the US have to things like that, many politicians in this country would put the interest of Israel above the interest of the United States. You would think Israel is providing major support for the Us in many ways instead of US providing countless support for the Israel and not getting much back in return. I cannot recall a relationship like that between the countries before, can anyone provide another example?

Let's be honest here. Palestine is suffering just as much from their own inept and overzealous leaders as they are from Israel. How many times did Arafat refuse to acknowledge UN 242, how how many times did he refuse a compromise, how many times did he use terroristic strategies to put Israelis in perpetual fear, all the while he was flying around in first class airplanes to Paris and all over Europe, fighting his war from Libya and Beirut.

Israel is no innocent victim here, but Palestinian leadership is equally at fault for the current situation, as are the other Arab leaders.

Why does America care about Syria but not about the African countries where warlords or dictators rule with an iron fist? (Not Egypt/Libya)

Because machete's are not weapons of mass destruction.
WMD's are the only reason we are talking about Syria.

Wish it were that simple. If that were the case.. what about North Korea? They have a 30yr old dictator with nuclear weapons capabilities and threatens to use them any time he's riled up. They even detonate them every once in a while. Seems pretty cut and dry that we should've invaded NK long time ago if we're invading just because of WMD's.
