Maybe Tillman is selling the team. Casinos are losing big time, it may take a while to recover. JVG went for an interview then Morey quits. Who wants to work in a field where you are handcuffed. Morey stayed long, but it reached a point that he couldn't put a stamp on anything without owner meddling.

For the next coach, Tillman will sign whoever promises to never go into Luxury Tax and will take half of their pay in 10% of at Landry's.

Now every potential coach knows that they will be paid below market value under our owner

Tilman exposed again in his circle of lies.

In the end it's all business ($$$). Tilman needs that China money. He's probably scared that China will pick another team to root for. Even Yao had to denounce his ties with the Rockets after what happened. It really shows how everyone living in China is absolutely scared af about their government. I mean, not surprising, you literally see documentaries about Chinese government making you and your entire family, relatives disappear in the middle of the night, basically erasing your existence from the planet.

Focus on family when all his kids have graduated? Yeah right, cuz that's exactly the time you focus on your children, when they're freaking adults and graduated from college LMAO.

I believe the biggest reason for the firing is the China tweet, Fertits wanted that china money back so he fired Morey (or had him tell everyone he "resigned") to get rid of him. Now he can go to China and ask for sponsorships again.

One just graduated HS and both are sitting out because of COVID. (Meaning they want a real education, not some online BS). 2021 season is toast because of COVID. If there is a year to sit out, it would be 2021. Let the GOAT collect another championship.

He added Harden’s name in there for clicks. James may have wanted the trade but it happened because Tilman wanted Paul gone. Don’t think for a second that Tilman won’t move James if he thinks James is done.

Just how --SCARED-- is the CCP of the Chinese people? With that last sentence, I'd say it exceeds the fear going the other direction, which, when not heads-down trying to escape poverty, manifests itself mostly as anger and sadness. In the end, that's like water carving through rock- when all is said and done you'll have a canyon that all the weapons and state-directed violence at the disposal of the CCP proved helpless to stop.

It's the same with the initial Corona Covid 19 fear. Fear is more serious than reality.

The Chinese do not have an absolute favorite team, as for the current favorite, might as well be the current NBA champion or Curry who is really loved everywhere.

I think it is asinine to assume that the Rockets were the favorite without Yao for many years.

Many root for the teams that could eliminate the Rockets because all Rockets games are forbidden.

As for those entire families, surely, only 'dissidents' would be in danger to 'disappear', you can picture a 3 strike rule....once you are blacklisted e.g. when ordering flight tickets, then you are probably in danger.

It's more likely to be hit by a lightning than to disappear if one has nothing to do with political activism.

And no, you are not automatically a 'dissident' when you say something on a forum.

It takes a little more, like incinerating stuff in protest of a matter.

Why the hell does Frittata even force himself into that phone call? All that phony BS about "calling his ass when I need advice"...just STFU.

Fertitta may want to sell the team, but he has to find a buyer. Moreover, a buyer willing to pay a premium over Fertitta's original, laughably excessive, purchase price. (Because the NBA would rather do anything than show potential future franchise buyers that they can lose money by purchasing a team.) This, in an entertainment endeavor that just had, what was it, a 75 percent drop in television ratings for its crown jewel event, relative to last year?

Good luck. I mean, if you were a billionaire businessman or leader of a consortium of them, would you spend ~2.5 billion USD or more, to purchase this NBA team right now? With God-only-knows what further restrictions on public gatherings we'll see?

Rockets franchise was worth 2.2B after 2018 season barely losing to champion GSW only because team was 2nd best in NBA only behind GSW and prine assets included Harden, Morey, D'Antoni and Chris Paul.

    Only Harden remains.

As I keep having to say here at CF: the economics of a professional sports team don't have a great deal to do with how they do in their athletic competition. There is some positive correlation---fans want to be entertained for their money, and victory is usually the most entertaining outcome---but not enough that the first thing to come to mind when looking at valuation would be, 'Because they were 2nd best in the NBA that year.'

Ultimately, they were worth 2.2 billion because Tilman Fertitta paid that for them. I doubt Le$ would have gotten anywhere near that from anyone else. I really doubt Fertitta paid it because of how well the team did or didn't do in the Western Conference the prior year.
