I think its between Silas and Lucas.

Silas is calm, collected, humble, positive and extremely intelligent X's and O's guy. Nothing ruffles him.

    I'm sold

While this is true... keep in mind that TF said he wants the culture of his basketball team to be a reflection of him... and cool, calm, humble and intelligence are not terms I would use to describe TF.

If it’s Tillman’s choice, I’ve heard he wants JVG.

How about best offense in NBA history?

Does TF consider himself to be the best?

I'm reaching but Heaven knows I really need this to happen.

I actually see same personality traits in Lucas. Very similar demeanor as Silas.

Tillman is cheap and ruthless so it may not be a bad thing if that’s his motto to build a team around his image. Cheap on the defensive end and ruthless overall

I am torn, because part of me want Silas for better ball movement and better offensive plays. But this rockets group is a veteran team and I feel the players may tune him out.

I like Van Gundy from a defensive perspective and I know he will call players out on their bs but not sure if he is the answer for offense.

I like Lucas despite of his coaching track record, However it depends which Lucas you are getting. If you get the old Lucas that don’t mind putting a foot in their ass to hold them accountable then I am on board but if you get the I am a players coach and let them do anything on the court then no let Lucas continue to be a player development coach.

I guess we will know soon..

I don't like my chances. 33.33 percent of Silas being it

One isn't like the others. It's obvious who the best choice is. I wouldn't mind keeping Lucas as an assistant and JVG would be good as the defensive coordinator, but Silas is the best by far.

I don’t understand what the big fuss is about Silas. It’s been 4 years since we last interviewed him and nobody has offered him a coaching gig. Give me JVG.

The cheapest option is Lucas so I am assuming that is what broke #Tilman will do.

JVG might have the *fire* that Tilman likes, but he will cost too much money.

Silas would be my choice and you could keep Lucas on staff to satisfy the players.

When in doubt though, assume Tilman will make the wrong decision

Looks like we got coach already. JVG.
reason? we have rookie GM, that naturally concludes that we'll have to have an experienced head coach.

It’s all about what sir James Harden wants. I can see him preferring Lucas or Silas. Continue ISO ball and PNR the harden way.

JVG may demand a lot / call em out / ruffle some feathers which will be tough since he’s never won anything (a demanding coach like Pop can do that type of stuff as he has rings to back it).

I don’t feel very good about next season at all. It’s clear small ball won’t work - so we’re stuck with a roster we know can’t get out the west (over LA and Denver) we don’t have money to sign any Big FA and we have a new GM and an eventual new Coach.
    Buckle.Up.

So glad you are taking this stance.

You and @ashleyem never seem to have a clue.
