    wow ... lulz

When it comes to Rockets (esp since Drafted franchise players typically always get included for era-coverage). that's like a HoustonRockets twitter poll leaving Francis off "favorite Rocket" lists ... but worse

Nick Van Exel ahead of Melo? Really

Start typing Nick Van Exel in Google and notice how many letters it takes for his name to come up

They could have easily put Abdul Rauf up there before Van Exel

    Kinda makes sense, but ...

Can you imagine other teams doing “favorite player of all-time polls” leaving off franchise players they drafted (or traded for prior to rookie season) just because they are still playing

3rd to Half the teams couldn’t do a poll like that

    LAC - Blake
    TOR - DeRozan
    CHO - Kemba
    NOP - AD, CP3
    OKC - WB, KD
    IND - George
    MIN - Love, Rubio
    ORL - Dwight
    POR - LMA
Chi - Rose, Butler (just to include non-MJ era names in there)
    Etc
    Etc

I leave off Irving and LeBron, because teams always include stars they drafted who won titles for them. And Spurs fans have disowned Kashi

It's because we tarnished his reputation that he's not on there. That's what Melo himself will tell ya.

The "still playing" reason doesn't work. Jokic is there.

That's funny. Billups is in the picture and he only had one really good season with the Nuggets. In that year Melo was on the same team and obviously eclipsed Chauncey's numbers.

Chauncey's hometown is Denver and he played college at CU Boulder....their best player ever, by far. Hometown hero is a big part of him being included.

I took it as meaning, still playing, but for another team ... as these polls are often to gauge how much you like the current players vs "all-time"

If 2 of your 5 best of all time players were past their prime when they joined, that explains why no one takes your franchise seriously ..

Yeah, I guess that's it. But I still don't think that's the real reason. These polls are about popularity. It just shows that Melo is not very popular among the Nuggets fanbase, maybe because of the way he forced his way out to NY. You know the Denver fans much better than almost everyone here.

I agree. Not the real reason. I was just commenting on pgabriel's suggestion.

Why would a selfish punk of a player like Melo be on any team's favorite?

I actually knew a Nuggets fan back in the days (yeah they exist) and used to talk to him. He hated Melo. Yes, this was a sorry ass franchise but even the Nuggets fans didnt think too highly of Melo.

As much as you don't like Melo the franchise hasn't had much success at all and i guess most Melo years they were considered underachievers but they did make a conference finals. That may sound weak but in the context of the franchise history its a lot

Carmelo was drafted in that Lebron Wade drafted and a few suggested he should be number one. I remember one poster in particular but i cant remember his name. Anyway the franchise immediately improved they had very good regular seasons

Edit: more franchises have championships than i realize 13

The nba and mlb im sure have a lower percentage of franchises that have won championships. MLB for most years was really a haves and have nots league where franchise wealth made a big difference and the nba is driven by franchise players. No matter how you slice it Melo had a better career than Alex English and unfortunately for them thats the 2 best ever players in their franchise history

meh nothin wrong with it. Melo quit on Denver and they got better when he left.

Melo is also pretty unpopular here. You dont see melo jerseys at nuggets games
