Would love the kc offensive coordinator but wonder how much of that offense is him vs Reid Dabo is one i have not thought about but a DeShawn reunion would be fun to watch Unfortunately I feel like it will be a patriots retread. Maybe mcdaniel
Well, McDermott, too. The job he's doing in Buffalo - with Josh Allen - should've been a wake call for the Texans. I mean, yeah - most of Reid's offensive guys, honestly, have, like, one outlier of a great season - and then a whole bunch of 9-7, 7-9, or worse, seasons. I think the best way to do this is rank those coaches, in terms of who you'd hire, and the top four is almost certainly (some order): 1. Harbaugh 2. McDermott 3. Pederson 4. Rivera And 3 of those guys are defense. That's where my head went.
McDermott has the Bills on the up for sure. and think his OC, Brian Daboll, will get some serious looks from teams this year. But to me it just shows that being a stud coordinator/play caller doesn’t necessarily translate when taking the next step. Find the best guy you think can lead the franchise, not one who you think can just take the offense or defense to the next level.
They'd only be able to block it if it were a lateral move. I’m slowly getting on board the Saleh train. On top of coaching some elite defenses, Saleh has also been a part of pretty well balanced teams in Houston (kinda sort of), but more so with the Seahawks and 49ers lately.
I've watched them pretty closely this year and with all of the injuries they're having on the defensive side of the ball Saleh is still having them play fairly well.
“I have not heard from Deshaun and that is not even anything that I want to even have to think about,” Swinney said, before chuckling. “You would be the one to ask that question out of all the questions. You don’t want to ask anything about Miami? Next question.” https://www.chron.com/sports/texans...inney-Texans-coach-next-question-15625439.php
And as I’ve said before and it’s stated in the article as well Dabo has a relationship with Easterby.
And let’s not act like McDaniels has not made chicken salad with chicken s&@@ Year after year yeah he had Brady but people have always said imagine if McDaniels had a mobile QB and Cam don’t count because he isn’t the same player he once was.
FWIW John McClain said there’s “no chance” the Texans bring in anyone else from the Patriots organization... including McDaniels and Caserio. He said they’re done with the patriots guys. He made it sound like he’s plugged in directly with Cal. So I believe it.
The biggest knock against Dabo Swinney, for me, is that he would almost assuredly bolt for Alabama once Saban retires.
