    Today is September 29 2020

MDA is still available. He could accept the job if Rockets hire him?

JVG has the worst stars and least stars?

MDA has the most MVPs and superstars?

MDA has playoffs winning record with Suns 26-25

I would rather take a gamble with an unproven young coach than an over the hill old one...

From the list, I could gamble on Doc. He’s still a good coach. Good in-game adjustments. Gives our coaching much more grit. All really depends on what kind of system we’ll be implementing. I assert it’s still gonna be Morey-handed. With James and Westbrook I think Doc will be most equipped to handle either of those egos. IMO. Give James someone who he’s familiar with - bring back Clint Dammit! With Clint you HAD to drop three into the paint on defense gave a little more room on the outside. Without Clint, the paint game wasn’t that real of a threat. He was doin 15-20/10-15 in many of the playoff games. Not to mention, he’s a beast in the playoffs against centers and there are no more warriors to contend with. A brotha can dream can’t he? Would you bust up a Stockton to Malone?

Coach: Bill Laimbeer has turned around 3 different loser/soft organizations and took them to the WNBA finals. Yesterday he just made his 7th WNBA finals in 16 seasons (crazy!)...looking for his 4th championship.

Player: He and Isaiah Thomas were the 2 original Bad Boy Pistons before everyone else came. He won 2 championships in the era of Jordan, Bird, and Magic. Again, turning a losing/soft organization into a champion.

Also, he coached Kevin Love his first couple of years as an assistant in Minnesota. If the Rockets are targeting Kevin Love, there is already familiarity.

Why though? What has he proven as an assistant coach that makes you think he'll be a successful head coach?

The only reason he is currently getting to most votes in this poll is because he started his playing career in Houston, and that's absurd.

they want Sam Cassell because of nostalgia and because he took a lot of midrange shots as a player

He is a student of the game. He has mentored a few good guards.
He knows X's and O's and can motivate
We like his personality and attitude.

I was curious about him before this process. I watched him talk to Austin on his podcast. He has no business being a head coach in the NBA, he is clearly a development guy and that’s it. If he’s the hire I hope I’m wrong.

    compare to this

one is a student of the game who lives to coach, the other just kind of seems like he wants to work one on one with players and coaching isn’t a passion. There is a reason why Sam hasn’t gotten a chance. He doesn’t give off the impression that head coaching is something that he truly wants, just something that feels like the next step. There are 30 of these jobs in the world. You have to live it.
