Outside of Brantley and Tucker, what a disaster it has been for Astros hitters this season.

Hey, a clean ninth! It couldn’t have been Pressly.

Hope Springer, Correa, Altuve, and Yuli can light those bats on fire at the right time.

    The Good:
Valdez back in his good 2020 form. Went deep and produced a lot of whiffs
James had a good outing for the second night in a row
Brooks Raley! Hope he sticks around at least another year.
Tucker with a homer to snap out of his funk. Ended up being all we needed.

    The Bad:

    Altuve 0-4
Reddick now under 240 AVG, so much for his hot start

    The Ugly:

Again, in full Astros mode, we make another bad pitcher look good, but at least not as bad as last night.

Really ugly: One Tucker swing away from likely being shut out in back to back games against bad pitching.

Essentially, every reliever except Pressley was available. (Or should have been)

Getting 4 hits out of that lineup against a guy with a well over 7 ERA is un****ingacceptable.

Yeah, really worried about Jose. He looks like an entirely different person. Even his body language seems off. I’m not expecting him to turn it around at this point, I’m just hoping he is somehow back in form for next season.

I think the only way Altuve is going to get back to normal is a full spring training and a full season. He's in his own head at this point. It may be he hasn't recovered from the PTSD associated with the cheating scandal and being drug through the mud even though he wasn't one of the ones using the trash can. Also, all that BS about him wearing a buzzer. Otherwise, how do you explain it? He's had slumps before but this is crazy.

Should james be pitching in a close game right now?

Not exactly the most convincing series win, but you don't get style points.

We didn't get extra credit for close losses.

I had to look that up because I couldn’t believe it, but you’re right. I guess his more recent 1-10 streak clouded things for me. Hopefully he can break out of that and get it going again.

You could have gone to 16 games and it's .293/.359. Unfortunately, he's not hitting with any authority. He hasn't had an XBH since 08/22.
