A very good team playing mediocre. I think I would rather have a mediocre team playing very good.

I mean look JR Richard... I'm a pessimist when it comes to the Astros, but that's not entirely fair. We've got a lot of talent and we're playing poorly. We didn't need to be sellers at the deadline. Who the hell knows how our contention window is going to go now, but still.

Nearly 15% of pitches out of the zone were called strikes against the Rangers or about twice as many mistakes as normal. This is abysmal, but not legendary bad.

Nearly 25% of pitches out of the zone were called strikes against the Astros or about 3.5 times as many mistakes as normal. Over 10.5% of pitches thrown were balls called strikes...the worst ump performance against a team this year, and 9th in the last 5 years.

Umps performance would have been higher than 9th, except these games happened...

...Astros won 3-0 behind Morton without Angels ever getting anything going mitigating ump discussion to just 2 posts early in the game.

Lol at Donaldson. Hits the HR, and as he crosses home he kicks dirt on home plate after the ump just cleaned it and gets thrown out of the game.

Mariners lost. They go to San Diego for 3 now. A little winning streak ends this thing. Stop sucking offense.

Framber is unstoppable when he can locate his curve ball.

Wish his pitch count was lower. Don't trust the pen plus Pressly pitched back to back games.

It's possible, just a little bit possible, that the Astros as an organization are thinking just a little bit beyond this ****ed up season.

    Maybe.

It is possible, but only if they get healthy. This current team has no chance at all. It will need to all click at the right time, which is probably a long shot, but I do still believe that it could happen.

And for what it’s worth, the team and lineup on the field tonight needs to win. This lineup is good enough, if they can ever get their collective **** together.

Not sure about James going back to back games...

    Dusty playing a “hunch”...

Can’t even light up a guy with a 7+ ERA. No...we’re not slumping. We’re dying a slow death.

Astros offense has gone into Operation Shutdown against bad pitchers.

Not as negative as most on James, but Dusty is not doing him any favors.

    Though..not sure who is available.

Altuve approaching .200. Nothing but Ks and ground balls.
