Here's my post-game, should I stop this or keep doing it? The good: Kyle Tucker stays hot The top 2/3 of the lineup, as a whole, did well. Framber Valdez, despite not many Ks, did fine for most of the first seven. Brooks Raley with 2 swinging Ks, the former against red-hot Rendon on 3 pitches. The bad: Devo gonna Devo. Ain't been the same since post-ASB 2018. Time to just accept the league has passed him by and non-tender after this year. Hitting with RISP continues to elude us Framber should NOT have stayed in past the 7th. He was gassed. Yes, the pen was tired, but Raley for the 8th and Pressly for the 9th (if we were up) was ideal. Had other (not as good) names available too. The ugly: Seattle, starting to heat up, is now just 3 games behind. Upcoming OAK series means far more now, these games were very important to us. Hopefully today isn't 100% terrible. Go Rockets!!!!!
If you want to overcome an asterisk, has to be done in a 162 game season. This wouldn't have counted. Get in playoffs healthy and see what happens, I would wait until the winter break to address the bullpen.
Mediocre team is mediocre. "Astros are 5-13 on the road. They play five at Oakland and two at LA Dodgers this week." "The AL wild cards are not coming from the AL West, so the Astros must hold off the Mariners to make the playoffs. Seattle is only three games behind Houston." "Baker said McCullers will head back to Houston to get looked at further after being put on the IL today with a neck nerve irritation." "No word on severity of Reddick's injury, but Dusty said he's leaving that spot in the lineup open for now." "Astros 2020 season: First 20 games: 10-10 Second 20 games: 11-9 Last 20 games: ???" "Astros pitchers allowed 31 earned runs in 31 2/3 innings in the four-game sweep at the hands of the Angels (8.81 ERA)"
Can we just forfeit the rest of the season? At least guys wont be getting injured seemingly every day.
That's just lazy. They had the lead late in most of those games. They definitely had a chance to win late in every single one. They are good enough to win a game against the freaking Angels.
Yes I am and making the playoffs is no sure thing at all. If we lose our 2nd place status, which we hold by only 2 games, then things are way too uncertain to predict.
Call me Pollyana, but the odds that the Astros get eliminated in the playoffs is so much greater than the regular season.
