Im hearing the nets started a super small ball lineup againist the bucks today. Did the rockets put out the blueprint on the bucks also Giannis got pulled early.. but why
Heard some podcaster mention after we beat the bucks “how hard do the lakers and bucks really need to try in these startup games?” Clearly trying to downplay them losing to us in a game that they were clearly trying to win, but it’s true. They only need 1 win. Mostly meaningless game for them.
Bucks are paper tigers. Tight games against gritty teams fighting for playoff spots — and they fold. Nick Wright made an excellent point the other day that Giannis can’t close out games and he’s not ready to carry the load 40 minutes every night in the playoffs like Harden and LeBron.
BUT.. BUT those per 36 stats its same argument i used to say when max kellerman would say steph curry would average 36 if he had similar usage to harden. yea those per 36 numbers are estimates. harden actually is playing 36 minutes, if curry and giannis had to play more minutes its only natural their stats would go down due to fatigue, per 36 doesnt add the human element.
Counter argument is that they usually blow out teams more often than getting into one/two/three possession games. Will definitely be interesting moving forward, to see how they handle adversity.
