Anyone who owns the Rockets celebrating 50 seasons book? Can you provide some type of review? Many unseen or rare photos? Capture some nice game winners like Maxwell vs Warriors in 1994 and dunks like Delfino on KD or have Garcia’s death stare or Mutombo celebrating 22 games in a row? Do they speak on rivalry with Ainge during 1994 playoffs, 22-1 start and stuff like that? Is it worth spending $120-170 on it given international shipping for me?
I just got it half price on the Rockets Shop’s Memorial Day sale. It’s a nice, good quality book with full bleed photos. But I wouldn’t say it covers any new ground. I haven’t read the text yet, but I found the order of the big photos in the book was odd, and not in sequential order entirely. But it’s not bad. If you are interested in a good “Chronicle” of the two championship years, I highly recommend the “Believe It!” and “Believe it Again” booklets put out by the Houston Chronicle in the 90s.
Is it worth 120-170. No. But if you can get for 50 or less then yes. In the meantime. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/calvin-murphys-foreword-50-seasons-book.279071/
Thanks! I have both of those Believe It booklets among other books, so that's why I was wondering if this was worth it. I realise it covers a lot more ground, but my main interest is the 90-95 era, the 2008-2009 teams with the streak and Artest year and the 2013 team with Garcia & Delfino. Photos are out there online, so my main focus would be on getting new stories, know more about some of the players that have played on those teams and some rare photos / unseen ones. Also maybe even some nice artwork of some epic moments and teams, like the mural in the arena, but my guess is there's not a lot more to be discovered in here based on what I've seen in Clutch article on it and people's short reviews.
Thanks! Would you or @Patience be willing to help me out? I’d like to order the book but shipping is just as expensive as the book itself, so would like it to be sent to you and then you can send it to me via just regular mail option which should be cheaper I reckon no?
