The nuggets have multiple players out so if the rockets somehow lose this game tonight will this finally push Tilman over the edge and finally let him go?

Won't do us any good this season unless we hire an outsider.

It's a great question. You should start another thread about which assistant gets promoted to HC after Mike is fired so we can figure that out too.

Tillman is not going to pay 2 head coaches this year, so no he won't get fired.

Yes, I’m sure the results of regular season game #43 will be the main deciding factor on whether to fire the coach.

Not going to fire a coach before heading out on a 4 game road trip. I think Mike is safe unless we have a losing record or we fall to 9th.

Maybe Morey and Tilman told MDA he’d be fired if Hartenstein plays another minute this season. That’d at least explain why we have a coach that refuses to play a guy averaging 15 and 12 per 36 minutes this year.

how does firing MDA mid-season help the team? you have to have an alternative that's better. Best i can tell, we have no plan other than jack up as many 3 pt shots as possible. I thought it was reasonable to let MDA play out his contract even though we should have moved on after last season's disappointing playoff performance. But he continues to prove that he's not the coach to lead this team to the promise land. We are undiciplined, we don't play defense, and he can't figure out how to sustainably integrate Wesbrook into the team. We are clearly not playing like contenders. Yes the roster is fundamentally unbalanced, but the rest is on coach. Enough is enough. But i see that getting sorted out in the offseason ...which will be super early for Houston if we don't start playing better.

I don't know about this game. but if they continue to struggle and lose as the AS break approaches, a scapegoat will probably need to be made just for the sake of change. Harden/Wb or any other core rotational player isn't going anywhere. No assets to make any significant moves. The only potential addition is likely going to be be getting lucky on the buyout market if someone shakes loose. So here we are. MDA is that "change" if it comes to that point

A whole lot of blame shifting. The offense is literally a Moreyball offense, so how is us jacking up 3's on MDA? The offense in Phoenix looked nothing like this. Secondly, you fired the coach's assistants, including the defensive coach, then blame him for nothing putting together a cohesive defensive scheme. Third, Morey's over coddled Harden to the point he's incoachable. So how can one reasonably coach a team where the best player doesn't want to listen? It seems Morey needs to go before anybody

If firing McHale didn't turn the season around, why do you all think firing MDA mid-season would do any good?

Exactly, he will ride this out until the end of the season, if we manage to sneak into he playoffs he’s down the minute we get bounced, if we don’t make the playoffs he’s gone within the hour of final game of the season ending .. if by some magic and sorcery, or possibly voodoo or witchcraft, we somehow make it to the finals .... ahh never mind, sorry I just can’t even entertain that level of fantasy (ie Hope) presently
