    It's one poster's opinion / list, though.

I'd also say that we can take into context a retired player's career and judge based on that. Underrating still-active players is fine, since the story isn't over yet.

Thanks to WikiPedia info he rode the Lakers to a championship.

He made the Playoffs just not regularly, few times.

I was thinking just this morning about how great a player Gus Johnson was, and that he seems to be largely forgotten now.

And, he did a brief stint on Rox in the early-mid 1980s, coming over in the Mo Malone trade.

He never won a championship, but he was very good, and had a very notable and high-level career.

Edit: Hmmmm, I thought for sure Johnson was one that scrub Rockets team that existed after the Mo Malone trade, but perhaps I am thinking of someone else.....

Ok I am thinking of Phil Ford. The guy was the bomb on the Kansas City Kings, but he had lost a lot of his athleticism when he joined the Rox. He was on the post-Malone Rockets team. I would say he fits the bill of this thread.

I looked into it further. I'm wrong about that. Only made it four times though.

I find that this board hates all players equally unless they were from the 93-96 teams.

This board (well, most posters) doesn't even acknowledge players that played before 1993.

Lots of hall of fame players won their rings either being a role player or being at best a second option (Clyde Drexler, Jason Kidd, Chris Bosh, Oscar Robertson, Spencer Haywood, Bob McAdoo etc) after being the first option at one point in their career.

Wow, reading about Gus Johnson was awesome. "The Nail" story was great.

Also, what if they were still the Chicago Zephyrs instead of the Chicago Bulls? lol
