OK so what was the point of the Iman Shumpert trade again

    Yeah, his defense has been fine. And probably gets better as he practices more and learns the switching defense. But his SHOOTING needs a BIG uptick.

    the trade was a success based on the reasons the team made it.

    1. get under the LT.
    2. add an actual NBA player to the rotation.

    both were accomplished.

    looking into Shumpert's actual effect on the lineup is getting stuck in the weeds. prior to the trade we only had 7 NBA players on the roster. after the trade we're up to 8 with the hopes of landing a buyout player to get a legit 9 man rotation. didn't happen of course.

    tl;dr 8 players is better than 7, and no tax is better than tax.
