I always looked at him as one of Les's favors/deals in the Far East. But, the guy has improved...and it's Monty Hall time. So.... I'm going with a late first round pick.
I don't think we'd have to give a first - even a late one... I'm betting Murray could get someone to take his contract off our hands for only a second rd pick as an enticement... lol
Try to imagine how this board would react if Qi were with another organization and Morey traded a 1st rounder for him.
Morey isn't that guy..but, I'm convinced there are some out there who have a,perceived value on him as early 2nd - late 1st at this point.
He has proven enough to be on D'Antoni's good side, which is certainly something. "Not a matter of If, but when"
I think Zhou will eventually be decent. Right now he has very little value on the market. So we’re better off keeping him and grooming him ourselves.
Yeah , I think he could be a "rotation piece." More specifically a backup role player off the bench. What's the value of that in terms of draft considerations ?! …. Good question. Backups are a Vet Min. a dozen on the scrap heap. Mid 2nd ? Cash Considerations ?! In the grand scheme of things , his value is …. not much. We’re better off keeping him and grooming him ourselves …. for the time being.
Just goes to show how fast CC has progressed. Zhou still has ways to go, but can't deny his defensive potential. I'd prefer he didn't shoot all those 3s, but doesn't seem like an efficient shot. Too lazy to check his stats.
Bro he has the same value as that half eaten subway sandwich you forgot you left in your car on Tuesday.
Backup roleplayer off the bench is pretty valuable especially if he can be the primary backup. Montrezl Harrel for example is a backup level c/pf and he still managed to get 6M from the Clipps. Not an extremely valuable piece for sure but valuable enough the Rox are spending time and resources to train him while paying him NBA salary.
Right now in the eyes of the rest of the NBA Zhou's biggest value is his NG contract status for the new few years.
