Anyone notice at end of the introductions (prior to the game start) when the Rockets have their huddle, James Harden runs away to the other side of the court? To me this is mind blowing as to why the leader and best player on the team is not part of the team huddle.
That's a good call out, man... I've made mention of when Harden arrived here, Lin, parsons and he had a whole pre-game routine... I thought it was a great team building thing... Since then, we've had the 'Harden doesn't ride with the team' and 'he and Dwight didn't eat with the rest of the team'... IF this is legit and reoccurring... it's certainly concerning...
You know what ELSE. The Adidas store opens today (or maybe it already opened, who cares) in the Galleria and Eric Gordon will be there, but not Adidas' BELOVED $200,000,000 man. $2mil and he wont show up for an hour, but y'all expect him to eat BBQ with his teammates.
maybe they are affirming their support for James's MVP bid and James modestly doesn't feel right about participating in that. Did that ever occur to you, MR. SMARTY PANTS?? sheesh. but agree that this deserves its own thread.
Pregame huddle is to get guys hyped up/ready to play. James' play style really isn't contingent on that. Bev is probably better on that type of stuff tbh. Just James recognizing his own leadership style. Not everyone is a screamer or even likes to be screamed at.
Trevor Ariza initiates the huddle by saying "Boys, let us get together" Harden hears lettuce and walks to the other side of the court.
It's definitely reoccuring as I've seen this happen at every game I've been to this year, and I've been to at least 10 games. Honestly it makes me lose respect for him. If I was a teammate I'd lose respect for him as well especially if it was an ego thing.
trade the man immediately for violating something that has nothing to do with the actual game of basketball
His constant passes to teammates in the beginning of the game to get everyone going makes me not care about this thread. Some people have different pre game quirks. Go look at all the baseball players pre-game quirks. Not a big deal. And I have to say, throwing it 4-5 times to Troy in the beginning of last night's game was all I need to see about leadership.
Everyone calm down. James has recently been suffering from flu like symptoms. He's just being a good teammate and not spreading germs to other team members. Just another reason he is the leagues MVP.
