Applewhite and Harsin weren't Urban Meyer or Chip Kelley but the offense was respectable when they were here.
Ah yes the Mack brown strategy - just get a couple of real good players, don't bother with identity stuff/foundation and everything follows. No longer works; will not work. (but but Texas A&M got Johnny Football! - and played him behind an NFL caliber OL that had years in the system)
You have to give him more time. He's only had 1 draft class come in so far. His 2016 class is really weak right now but he doesn't try to get guys in their junior years like Mack did so he'll be tail heavy.
Sure, when they had a decent QB (Ash - way better than anyone gave him credit for) and a decent OL (Mack's last year actually had a pretty decent line, they just had Case McCoy at QB...doh...). Strong has neither right now, nor did he last year.
What about TCU's offensive coordinator? They got him from Oklahoma State just last year, and they blow the world out with 3 star recruits. They SUCKED on offense the year before. WTH is wrong with us?!?!?!? We can't pick QB's. We can't pick OC's. F it!
Any truth to the reports that the MOB won't be at the game on Saturday because Patterson decided to make band members pay face value for tickets and is angling to do the same to Texas Tech's band on Thanksgiving?
Don't know how it was done before but they are now charging for tickets. Spoiler <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/notthefakeSVP">@notthefakeSVP</a> All Big 12 teams charge each other for tickets for the band or fans.UT was charged & paid last year.</p>— Steve Patterson (@SWPatterson) <a href="https://twitter.com/SWPatterson/status/641766517852389376">September 10, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">FWIW on Texas-Tech band tickets story. Patterson is an autocrat, nobody really likes him, and he will not be there in a couple of years. Fenves has not exactly come out with a strong public vote of confidence. "I have people skills, dammit!!!"
WTF is the patterson doing. Charging the other teams band? If that hasn't been done before he needs to be gone ASAP. This is UT not rinky dink U.
This story is being very misrepresented. http://lubbockonline.com/filed-onli...-ut-football-game-come-price-tag#.VfESJLRPJ5g I was really disappointed they didn't hire Oliver Luck. The administration had a "clean house" mindset and Patterson had that reputation. I'm not sure if it was talked about on here but Patterson and the new president at UT had some legit problems. I doubt he got close to losing his job but it wasn't good.
It really is. But guess this is what happens when everything reported about the Patterson/UT Camp has been negative so far during his tenure. I think they still have legit problems. Not sure how much it actually factors, but there has to be some PR concerns with firing your AD less than 2 years on the job. From everything coming out though, I don't think Fenves will be able to wait much longer and wouldn't be surprised to see something happen by the end of the year. Patterson seems to be leaving a $hit trail behind every move he makes.
Dang, how do you have 10,000+ posts and that little rep?? This post seems pretty good. You seem like a good poster. Why no love??
Virginia is up on ND at the half. How terrible is this Texas team? Putting a competent and competitive team together at UT shouldn't take an act of congress... This isn't rocket surgery.
