The Nexus 6 is down to $350 on amazon. Its a big phone but it has solid specs and is at a reasonable price point now. http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Unlo...e=UTF8&qid=1441379780&sr=1-1&keywords=nexus+6
Solid phone for that price. Plus you'll be one of the first to get marshmallow when it comes out. Why would you even get a OnePlus if the nexus 6 is at that price.
Not that I dislike the OnePlus 2. The first one set the world on fire with the bargain price for great specs. This time around it doesn't seem like such a bargain especially when other phone makers are offering competitive pricing. The things that turn me off about OnePlus Invite system Customer support OS is no longer cyanogen mod so my confidence in software support is shaky. They have been trying to get their voice activation from sleep working forever and basically never delivered on that promise and its been over a year. I just rather spend the money on a reputable phone maker. I've always had to send in my phones in at least once so when OnePlus said their customers had to pay the international shipping I sold mine immediately. That was with the first one. Maybe they've started covering the costs for the new one now.
Anyone know anything about the iPhone imitation, Xiaomi Note 2? I heard about it through friends and it just got released in Asia. It's supposed to be dirt cheap, but with super specs that rivals Samsung and other phones. I have a Sony right now and thinking about getting something new next year. I have friends who travel overseas for work often, and can get them for cheap.
Thanks for the feedback. Had not considered long term support. The OS has had decent reviews, there are more positive reviews than negative. I did hear about issues with the OnePlus One. You bring up a good point about the warranty. The Moto X, in black, is my other option. Thanks again.
if you're going for moto x black, I've been reading posts that the 10% best buy mover's coupon works on the moto x black from BEST BUY. Max you can go is 32gb memory but that should be plenty since it's got microSD. Oneplus may have improved their warranty exchange. I might be outdated on that info but that's the last I remember. The Oxygen OS is probably nice but my worry is the updates to the latest version of Android in the future. Not just the updates but the speed on which it gets updated. Motorola has a better track record although not great as of lately but better than most especially on their pure edition phones versus their carrier phones.
Wont work for you. You wont have any of the American LTE bands. You'll get 3G service only on AT&T and/or T-Mobile. And T-Mobile has a big chunk of its network that only has high speed data over LTE.
Nexus 6 is tempting right now with the $350 price tag along with their 12 month 0% financing if you charge it to your Amazon Store card the only setback I don't like about the new Nexus(es) is that it'll have Type C USB port and I've invested in the Quick Charge 2.0 chargers for my current 2014 Moto X. I know they are backwards compatible but I love that feature
My guess is that the USB type C that the new nexus'es use will be quickcharge as well. You just need the new cable. I think oneplus did the usb type C in a bad way where it's still usb 2.0 and no quickcharge. We'll find out soon I'm sure.
Really debating with myself if I'm gonna purchase the Iphone 6s or just wait for the Iphone 7 next year... I hate how they upgrade every year... Making previous versions seem obsolete. If anyone was to gamble, the 7 should make a huge difference, right? But I don't think i have the patience to stick with such a crappy phone and OS (Note 4). Even the battery on this thing is running out faster than usual.
Yeah, and in classic Oneplus fashion, led the customer to believe it was the latest and greatest technology. There are actually some aspects about the Two that make I less appealing than the One. Overheating, no NFC, no quick charge, etc.
http://androidxda.com/root-motorola-moto-g-2015 How to root my Moto G. Is there any reason I should not root it? What are the drawbacks? Clearly, I've never done this before.
LOL, yea I ended up cancelling my contract and disputing the ETF. They eventually put it on my credit. 2 more years.....
18 (supposedly) days left until nexus. eloquent explanation from a reddit user of why the ability to go aosp on your phone is awesome... https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/3kel19/slug/cuwxihg
ive had the iphone 5s since it came out. i was thinking about upgrading but im going to wait. there does not seem to be much difference in the 6 and 6s. i suppose my phone will be on its' last leg next year at 3 years old. but the upgrade will be very noticeable. my roommate is going to upgrade from the 4s to the 6s plus. haha he should be happy with the phone. he is apple all the way retina mac/27" retina imac. but he was able to hold out a long time on his phone. which is one of the things that makes apple great. which is if you take care of the product it will last you a long time most likely.
