So today I'm on my computer and doing some browsing with the chrome browser as I usually do, when all the sudden I get a notification that the Astros/Athletics game is starting. So I click on the popup and it is actually an in game app that gives me up to date score, pitch count box score, in a clean easy to read format. Also, I have been impressed with the news app which curates all the latest stories. This is the first time where I felt it was easier for me to use an app than to use a browser to find things that interest me. Anybody using these apps?
I'm excited about it, what can I say. I do think that Google better watch its back because bing is catching up quick, and with these apps, the browser is quickly becoming obsolete and google, more than any other company NEEDS the browser to survive. You ain't going to have a chome app. While Microsoft is making easier and easier to cut the browser cord. And when they do that, their apps will all be supported by bing, not google.

Windows 10 has allegedly built in with government monitoring software schemes that tracks the user usage no matter what setting. Microsoft clearly got a government contract and that's why the free upgrades are so prevalent.
I do like it so far. Much better than the previous. I'm in the android eco system tho so don't have use for the apps
Google NOW provides what you mentioned in your fist post. Apple probably has something similar as well. It may be a good app by MS but I don't see myself using it. Can you put it on your phone? They aren't out of the mobile business.
I saw the thread, thought, "Oh, seems interesting.." Saw the OP and thought, "NVM, I'll see how funny it is." No offense, OP.
Well the notifications are one thing but the idea that you have to search for information with the browser as opposed to info coming to you is a different animal. Google Now doesn't do half the things that the ms sports app does. And you still have to search. google fanboys will hang on to the idea that google is better than microsoft, but the opposite is true for me. And I've been using google for years, out of habit.
lol....thought the same exact thing. will stay far away from windows 10. thanks for the heads up what!
