Lots of stupidity in the thread right now. Team loses, it must be the managers fault. Not sure what he is being blamed for.

He had his best relief pitcher in the game, who has been scoreless in 25 of his last 28 appearances. The pitcher struggles, but still had a chance to get out of it, but Springer couldn't quite make the tough catch. None of that is Hinch's fault.

One of you should really get it over with and make an "Official Fire Hinch Thread"

nahhhh, in a game thread, if we think he made mistake in the game, i think is fair to talk about it, right??? You can disagree, and place your position, but, can we do the same???

For the first time ever, I've put somebody on the ignore list, took them off, and then had to put them back on. Some people can't change, they are just bad posters. Not trolls, just genuinely not smart baseball people.

If you are so smart, enlighten me and tell me a GOOD SMART reason of why Rasmus was not playing tonight.

That's not really why you're blocking him either. You're blocking him because he's annoying as ****.

They sure better figure out how to close games like this real quick...I have more faith in Vincent to come in and close games...hopefully Hinch starts to make some changes in the bullpen that are more permanent

Well, maybe you can tell me then why Rasmus did not start tonight.
Why 3 game hitting streak, homer last night, righty pitching, and what happen??? Rasmus did not start. And you know the real pity? That this has gone for a long time now with the team. You could say, well, we are in first place, yes but i would reply, in past 3 months we are playing .500, maybe with a better manager that does not play so much with the lineup. Tonight Marwin was 2 for 4, will he play tomorrow? Well, according to Hinch, he will NOT.

Close games, usually a mistake by a manager is all it takes, and we lose many close games.

Sorry, but my position is Hinch is making mistakes with lineups, use of bullpen, and not giving the ball to 2 young guys with great stuff when games matter and/or are on the line.

Watching the replay, Springer "should've" caught that triple.

Should've because who he is, but great attempt.

The truth is hard on some people. Kinda reminds me of a scene from A Few Good Men.

The Astros up to this point if you look at their advanced stats and consider the pitching they have are underachieving. Players have to go out there and perform for team to be successful but the manager/coach is key in putting players in the best position to have better chance to win. Like I said earlier, for Hinch to continue to play Gomez and Gattis everyday is just stupid. Tucker needs to be DHing against most righties and Marisnick needs to be platooning with Gomez at the very least at this point. Marisnick with his defense alone is more of a positive impact player than Gomez. Hinch has not been impressive in a number of areas and his flaws are being exposed down the stretch the more important the games become toward the end of this season.

Frustrating game - few missed hits, including a couple from Altuve, and a very close play from Springer. Our bullpen has really been letting us down this past week. Was really hoping we could find a way to solidify it at the deadline, but not many game changers available.

If you're Hinch do you consider keeping McCullers on a Home-Only schedule? Dude is downright filthy at home, and we've got the bodies allowing him to skip a start (unless Feldman misses extended time).

While you hate losing a close one like tonight, our season will be made or broken during the 7 remaining games against Texas.

I want ALL THOSE HINCH LOVERS to explain this to me.

    One example: Conger.

We all know Conger sucks vs left handed pitchers, right??? Then, why in hell Hinch has him playing so much vs them? you know Conger has 96 plate appearances vs righties, and 93 vs lefties? Eventough there are many more righties? You want to know the difference in hitting from one to the other???

Vs right handed pitchers .282 average and OPS of .965
Vs lefties .152 average with .565 OPS

Why he does not give Conger his FEW at bats vs right handed pitchers????
Why catch vs lefties??? Because Castro is a left handed hitter? You know what? Castro hits lefties at .230 clip, righties at .215. Now, he does have a lot more power against righties, but, he will battle lefties better than Conger, but???????

Hinch has not seen that for the WHOLE YEAR??????

What are some forum members say here? Hey, send your resume to Luthnow, hey, you are negative, hey you are a troll, ect ect ect

But, the reality is we have seen this mistake for the whole year.

Same with Marwin, he is hot, and he does not play enough. I would continue to use him until he gets cold.

Is there is coincidence that when we had our 3 centerfielders playing together we were best team in teh AL, yes even better than KC.

We've seen how much Marisnick would help us with his defense if he plays 9 innings in taht position. is the difference between a win and a loss. But, he seldomely plays, and when he does, is not in CF, whose fault it is???? And, when he does hit, then he does not play, INCREDIBLE.

Same thing happened with Singleton, he had some good games or good at bats, and what happened? Time to play Carter.

So lets see, we've seen mistakes with Conger, Singleton, Rasmus, Marisnick and Gattis, that is 5 spot out of 9 in a lineup. So, that means? He is struggling with lineups.

Bullpen: Wow. You have 2 great arms, VV and now Feliz, use the guys, pleaseeeeeeeee

You have a very good specialist, Oliver Perez, but what he do, pitching vs righties? I think he let Oliver pitch once to Sano? That is insane.

And, great thing our rotation is pitching like Cy Young pitchers, and he can't screw that up.

Some here are going to hate what i am saying, but, is not the truth????

Why Conger has same at bats vs righties and lefties when he is killing righties and one of worse hitter in baseball vs lefties??? Why?????? And Castros is hitting almost .100 average better vs lefties!!!!!!!!!!!
Why Rasmus not playing tonight? He needs rest???? Are you kidding me?????? We are in a pennant race. What is going on!!!!!!!!!

I never said I disagreed with most of what you said. I said you are annoying as ****.

Tact, social mores, likability...these are all things that are lost on you, at least when communicating on a BBS are concerned. But many posters have already told you that, and you haven't cared enough to attempt to change, when is why I don't feel the slightest bit bad telling you that you're annoying as **** and borderline insufferable. Hopefully this isn't how you act in your day to day face to face interpersonal communications.

Fans are more fickle with MLB closers than any other position in sports. Only like em till they blow a game or two, then they want their head.

How long of a leash would you want rookie closers to have in the homestretch of a pennant chase? Time to experiment and hope you're right is not now. (I'm saying this for arguments' sake, not because I agree that Gregerson's tubes should be taken).
