I think they are waiting to see who else gets cut from other teams before they make a move on Thomas.

With the reports that Foster could be back as quickly as week 4 I'm not sure they'd give Thomas the kind of contract or role he's looking for.
So Brett has them going into the season without a FB but he has them carrying 6 WR's? I think he must be slipping because of how poorly his boy Barkley is doing.
Missing Jay Prosch and I think that's one too many DLinemen. Easy swap out. I just don't see them keeping both Finau and Nix.
Groin injuries have a bad habbit of getting re-aggravated. I would be more comfortable with a backfield of Foster, Blue, and Thomas throughout the rest of the season, and try to keep Foster's carries under 20 per game.
I agree with you, my question was if the Texans would give him the guaranteed money and role he's looking for. He left after his tryout for a reason. That said, I haven't heard him rumored to anywhere else recently, so maybe he comes around.
Tania Ganguli's projected roster: QB: Hoyer, Mallett, Savage RB: Foster, Blue, Grimes, Polk FB: Prosch WR: Hopkins, Washington, Shorts, Strong, Mumphery TE: Graham, Fiedorowicz, Griffin OL: Brown, Brooks, Jones, Su'a-Filo, Newton, Slade, Adams, Clark, Mancz DL: Wilfork, Nix, Covington, Watt, Crick, Pagan OLB: Clowney, Mercilus, Simon, Brown ILB: Cushing, McKinney, Mohamed, Dent, Tuggle CB: Joseph, Jackson, Bouye, Johnson, Rolle, James S: Moore, Hal, Pleasant, Demps ST: Lechler, Bullock, Weeks
You should wonder over to Battle Red Blog and let Brett know what you think. BTW not everybody over at BRB is drinking Brett's koolaid.
Heh. I posted at BRB for long enough to know that Brett essentially gives most people on that site their opinions.....which most of the time isn't a bad thing because he's usually right. It's good to know that some there still think for themselves though.
I think Kollmann likes Max Bullough better on defense. I think that no one would argue that of the two Tuggle is the better special teams player. Methinks OBie might pick Tuggle over Bullough for that reason. The fifth ILB will play every game on special teams, but only a handful on defense.
I really like Max Bullough too, but I see him in a similar light to Charles James and Travis Labhart, they just don't have the physical attributes to make it.
The guaranteed money shouldnt be a road block, given that we have the cap space...and most likely will not be strapped by giving Thomas that 500k or whatever he's looking for. Fact is that if Foster isnt healthy from week 4-17, then we desperately need a RB that is more effective than what we currently have on the roster. Banking on Foster coming back and carrying us the rest of the way is a very big risk. Last year, Pierre had 45 rush attempts and 45 receptions...I dont think it would be that difficult to give him the same role, specially if Pierre takes up the RB2 slot ahead of Blue.

So far the first two cuts have been on Brett's projected 53 man. He's having a rough day. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Texans have released outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown, according to sources</p>— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/AaronWilson_NFL/status/639834005542604800">September 4, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
