    So, to summarize your view:

14-12 or 16-12 = hot, on a roll, love our chances
13-13 = mehhhh wtf only .500!! We are in rough shape

    Is that right?

I let myself argue with him again today

Haven't done it in a long time. Guess it's kind of like an alcoholic falling off the wagon and having a few

It's a worthless situation though. He loves some players until they get their chance and then rips them, thinks he know a LOT more baseball than Hinch, and generally doesn't understand that baseball is a long season

Sorry that I was partly responsible for his 50 posts today

But still, never said why we played .500 for a long time.

So, the truth is you never were in the "real" argument, you just gave numbers omitting 41 percent of the games.

    Lets see:

    14 and 12 in 5 months that is 84 and 72
    13 and 13 is 78 and 78

So on a year, well, IT DOES MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

In the first one, you will probably make the playoffs, in the second one, probably not. Of course, with the 16 and 12, that is major difference, with those numbers you finish first in your division 92 and 70

So yes, that makes a difference if is more than one month, and is the same constantly for 6 month, a baseball season.

Maybe 1 game looks like nothing in a month, but for 6 months it does make a difference.

    But you just said that:

    1) Hot teams do better in the playoffs, and the Astros are not hot enough
    2) If the Astros go 14-12 in September, you like their chances because by going > .500, they would be hot

You weren't talking about 6 months. You were talking about September.

If we play .500 we are going to end with 74 or 75 loses.

How many loses the Rangers have right now??? 62. That means, Rangers will have to lose 13 or 14 games this month for a tied.

    Lets see the Rangers schedule:

They can easily go 18 and 10 this month giving them a 86 and 72.

And i have them splitting the 4 games vs Astros and losing 2 of 3 at Houston.

If we play .500 then we are going to end up with 86 and 73.

Meaning, going into October we are going to be LOSING the first place in our division.

So, I don't care what my good friend Beard says, yes, going .500 for a 4th month will take us out of first place, so we better play over .500 in september.

    Actually brah I did

I said we were .500 cause we won half our games, and lost half

    Which is the truth

Carry on posting the same crap 50 times when almost everyone just wants you to stop

Why you omit the 16 and 12 record of KC? And why omit the August record of SF?

I take 16 and 12 record any day, and 14 and 12 is not bad, but not great either.

Now, those 2 teams played over .500 in August and September, plus some games in October, thats how you usually win the wild card. Always exception to the rule, always, but it usually is like that.

Plus, pitching getting hot in playoffs, example SF.

But, that is more your argument, mine is another one.

Playing .500 for a long time now. Look, we had a rotation that all pitched like Cy Young candidates and we could only mustard a 15 and 13 record???

My position is, IF we play .500 this month, Rangers will catch us. We can't look at them, we have to win series NOW, PERIOD.

    SMART argument, ok?

Well, i believe Hinch is responsible for some of it, but, you don't want to admit the wrongs on this team, and i am fine with that, but is better if you don't argue then, because this team is better than .500 and something is happening here because is going for a long time, and we can't afford another month of .500, we have a team that has 3 very good starters just 2 games on the loss column, and a 4th starter, Lewis that owns us. Is time to take a hold on the division and is by WINNING SERIES, and not playing .500.

If you are satisfied, or don't think is an issue that for 3 month we are playing .500, perfect. If you don't want to know why? So be it, continues posting the magic numbers, but this is a forum to discuss the good, bad and ugly on the team, and we are underachieving in the past 3 months playing "only" .500 ball, with that rotation, we should be 5 games over the Rangers.

And if you don't believe these things are important, thats your problem, but we need to win the division early to SET THE ROTATION FOR THE PLAYOFFS early.

But, you can continue only seeing the good things, and ignoring what is wrong on the team, good for you, but we should be playing better baseball, and for me that is a fact.

And tonight we saw AGAIN what we've seen for a long time now, Marwin and Marisnick, 2 guys hitting, going to the bench, YUPIIIIIIIIIIII

Not that long ago...like a couple of pages ago...you said .26ish wasn't very good.

Also, Tucker is hitting .266 against RHP with an .840 OPS (nearly 200 points higher than Marisnick).

Last time I chEcked defense is also important. Why a guy that hit a homer last night and was 2 for 3 and Hits .269 vs righties plus best defensive outfielder and Kazmir more of a flY ball pitcher in not playing? If is a 1 run game and tucker scrEws a throw or does not covered enough ground who do we blame?

I agree, but .269 right now would be number 3 in our lineup behind Altuve and Correa.

My point is Hinch will play Marisnick vs lefties (.181 vs lefties) and not vs righties (.269 vs righties) for me it does not make any sense.

Before the lineups i said Marisnick was not going to play now that Tucker is here. Ok, you want to play Tucker, give Gattis a day off? What i don't like is Hinch not giving another game when a player had a good game before. Or give Gomez a day off, but why a guy that had a good game and does good vs righties?

I disagree with Hinch and his lineups and not using guys that are hot or had a good game the night before, or using matchups that numbers don't give us advantage, thats all.

Now, I hope Tucker hits 3 homers tonight, and i don't mind him playing, but i want Marisnick playing, i don't care if you sit Gomez, or Rasmus or Gattis for it to happen, why? Because he had a very good game last night and plays great defense, and Kazmir is a fly ball pitcher, 1 run could make all the difference.

Kazmir was awesome vs Cruz and CanĂ³. The pitching he did on Cruz was awesome, Davinci at his best, painting that corner. He was throwing 94 mph, Big 0

First in pitching, 5th in run scored, last is batting average

Why then for 3 month we have played only .500???? Any idea??? First in ERA and 5th in run scored????

Maybe i am not wrong, is batting average and Hinch???????

    Any other reasoning????
