You can tell he beasted on the pnr with harden bc his defender committed to harden. They just didn't respect Capela and who would since he was a rookie? As he gets better they'll have to keep a body on him and rotate better. Which means harden will have more space, or shooters will be open.

Capela does what we wished dwight would focus on doing. Can't wait to see what lawson can do in the pnr as well.

I think Capella will ball out this year with harden and Ty feeding him lobs and drawing in defenders

I have high hopes for Capella and Harrell. Both seem like dudes who know there job. We don't need a 15pt a game PF really. We are stacked at the 1,2,5 and need guys like these 2 who go for lobs, dunks, and rebounds for the most part.

I'm excited about Clint and hope he's put on a few pounds in the off-season. He needs to, as long as it doesn't impact his quickness and his effortless leaping ability. Whether he'll end up a star depends on how his career evolves, of course, but Capela appears to have the physical tools that at least make it a possibility. Clint has those soft, large hands that allow the good/great post players to catch a hard pass inside to score, or pass to the open perimeter shooter, ala Hakeem, for example. Keeping and developing our young acquisitions that show promise remains an imperative, in my humble opinion. Donuts is a good example, as was Parsons when he was here. Capela could surpass them both as an impact player. We'll see. Just hang on to the guy, Daryl.

I think morey wants him for the long term. Dude is 21, more post season time than regular season

I think jones, Dmo, brewer, maybe Ariza would be traded before Capella unless gets a max lol. As you can see morey traded all of cappelas bench buddies but not him

For me, the excitement for the coming season is typified by Capela's demeanor and play in the playoffs. His excitement and hunger was tangible and his teammates fed off of it, as did we. He has a fire for the game. As he grows and melds with his teammates, his demeanor will be more of a support to them than even he can imagine, at this point.

I would just like this season to have minimal (or none, if possible) injuries. The Rockets haven't had that luxury in many a moon. Give them the same fortune that GS enjoyed last season, in that regard, and I see them standing toe-to-toe with any team in the league, if not superior.

I just feel a good chemistry coming next season, in my gut.

How come he doesn't play for Swiss national team? Do they have one.

Capela's going to get some serious minutes this year for one huge reason: Maori wants to know if he's capable of replacing Dwight in case we don't re-sign him when he opts out at the end of the season.

It's hard to imagine Maurey giving Dwight a long-term max contract under the new salary cap. Not that Clint can give us everything Dwight can (especially defensively), but he's younger, hopefully less injury prone, and costs significantly less. If we somehow come up short of the WCF this year, there will have to be some major changes made, and letting Dwight walk while signing a younger star (KD, anyone?) seems like the way to go.

Of course all of that changes if we win it all this year.

This is the knee jerk of knee jerks here... but I think Capela's development will play a huge role in whether or not they decide to re-up Dwight. I think ideally you hope that Dwight will opt in for 16-17 allowing Capela more time to grow. But I think there will be other big fish that may be too enticing to pass up, and having one less mega max contract on the books will surely help. Do we think that Capela could develop to give you maybe 60-70% of Dwight's production? The things that we need Dwight to do: rebound, patrol the paint, and operate at a high level in the pnr all are things that Capela seems naturally gifted at.

Its too soon to tell, a lot of players start out great but then develop bad habits or lose motivation 2-3 years down the line. Kid definitely looks promising though.

He has good form. Doesn't promise success, but it's a start.

Him and Giannis were the youngest guys to get minutes in the playoffs this year. Of course we all know that was done out of necessity but he quietly put together a pretty strong per minute stat line in the playoffs in terms of efficiency. Maybe he doesn't turn into a real star, but even if he stays essentially the same as he is now,(he will likely grow some) that's still a pretty useful guy off the bench - someone who can shut down the paint and finish at the hoop.
