This was obviously the right thing to do here. Harrell has a lot more potential and value at their points in their careers. Harrell can be a rotation player when one of either DMo or Jones is traded or signed by another team. We can't afford both of them, but having Harrell on a rookie deal helps us moving forward. I respect Chuck, but this was obviously the right thing to do for the team going forward.
Got on clutch fans tonight just to get a little laugh out of the folks that would be pissed about this. Same people who would trade anyone on the team for Landry or scola.

I don't really believe Morey's offer changed much but rather Hayes camp did not eventually get the fully guaranteed amount and they believe there are better option out there.
The agent seems to imply that the Rockets took the vet min contract offer off the table. ("getting squeezed out of the equation.") But the headline of the blog post reads "Chuck Hayes Passes on Rockets' Offer." And frustratingly, Feigen does not clarify exactly what happened, either. If he doesn't know, I wish he would just write "Hayes' agent would not clarify the specifics of the breakdown..." or something.
Exactly, thank you! Morey screwed up here and this is not going to sit well with agents and the like and it shouldn't. Proposing a player he can come and coach because you cannot sign him makes it look even worse. Morey has been a master of handling contracts and cap flexibility, but from KJ to Terry to Harrell and to Hayes has been one big failure. We are lucky Terry signed at least.
